Well, that was a footballing lesson, we look slow, static, I think we know why Slater players he at least bring energy to the midfield.
Burnley very good. Us very poor. They could and should be out of sight. Hopefully a game of 2 halves as they say.
Their movement and quality on the ball has left us chasing shadows. There is some very basic tracking runners which players across the team are failing at. Our press is in ones and twos and so easy to play around. Not just poor performances across the team but I can’t even see what we are trying to do.
Let's be honest they're a good team, they're exploiting the space and making use of our wings which is our weakness, Anthony is having a field day down our left, not sure we can do anything other then bring Slater on and double up on him but that'll just give more space in the middle. Men v boys at the minute.
I can forgive poor performances, but this is supposed to be his club, he should be putting a rocket up their arses at half time not feeling sorry for himself.
One moment that summed up this team over the last couple of years was just before their second goal. Kamara won the ball and had so much space to attack their box from the corner, it should've been a huge chance but no one found space, he tried a pass which didn't come off and as is so often the case, a brilliant opportunity didn't even end in a shot. Those positions seem to be hugely dangerous for any normal team, but for us we always find a way to not even get a shot off from them. Must've been a minute later we were two down because their winger, from a less dangerous position, puts a ball in a good area and someone attacks it. Why can we never do those two things? It's such an enormous part of the game and it seems to hold us back massively.
