Good performance that. Though we had less possession, thought we pretty much controlled the game throughout. The shape, out of possession was terrific, the press was top notch. Add to that some tremendous finishing and defending, it was pretty much what Champions are made of. Be interesting to see what the table looks like after the weekend fixtures (but before the Sunderland game). Think we’ll have an odd defeat here and there, before seasons end, but reckon it won’t be in the next 3 games. Starting to feel a bit optimistic, which is a bit of a worry.
Ye cheeky get You'd better tell Ben, he text me last night, he's meeting up with myself and the lads for a game and a heavy night on the lash, he can take us to Winston's this time
Morning all. A Watford fan said that we're the best team he's seen at Vicarage Rd this season, including Man City. I agree with what has been said. If we do get the job done and go up I think we have more firepower from different areas to hurt teams. Last season they could double team Somerville and we struggled. We didn't dominate teams like we are this year. Soloman is the real deal but I wonder how many can make the step up? How many would step into a mid table PL team like Manure?
I think we need to buy Solomon, James is a PL player for me, Tanaka too. I think the rest are up for debate.
Think someone (emu) did this a short while back but my stab at the squad is: 1. PL level: Solomon, Ampadu 2. Could could be ok for lower end prem team: Rodon, james, gnonto, bogle, tanaka, Aaronson 3. Ok squad player at PL level: Piroe, Struijk, Gruev, Ramazani (maybe?) Assumes: Wober/Firpo are gone. Joseph i might keep but would loan out for game time to see how he does. Anyone not mentioned doesn't make the cut. I wouldn't argue much with anyone swapping the category 2s and 3s. If I did this myself tomorrow i'd probably swap a few. In some respects it depends on the individual as to whether they can step up and the calibre of players around them. Bogle has been my curve ball this season, I've gone from thinking he was a headless chicken, to thinking he might well be PL capable. But very different being an attacking full back in a dominant championship team, to one being penned back all match by PL wingers.
As much as I’d like to join this discussion, it just strikes me as a little like counting our chickens, let’s see if we get there first. We will in all probability be second by the time we play on Monday night.
