Now that's what you call a performance, buzzing for the lads, so much better, that's the standard we want every week, everybody working together, looking after one another, best performance for a long while and an outstanding equaliser.
1. McKenzie -- for his goal-of-the-season !... and solid performance. 2. Gale. 3. Smith. I thought the result was fair...There wasn't a lot of quality from either side (( wouldn't surprise me if Walsall don't get promoted this season. )) The effort by all Gills players, was honest and deserved their point. I thought Gbode worked hard - particularly in the first half.... I was pleased to see a much better performance by Hutton.
1 MacKenzie 2.Gale 3. Smith But from 1-11 there was so much more effort and desire, still a distinct lack of quality but that was on both sides, at least for the first time in a while it was impossible to tell which side was pushing for promotion and which is looking over their shoulder.
1. McKenzie can only be one person here with a strike like that, been a while since I'd seen a Gills goal retweeted hundreds of time from a SKY clip, and got the deserved applauds on Tuesday Night (SKY) Football...we do exist apparently. 2. Gbode, worked hard and demonstrated his willingness to step up to assist his team mates, and be the calming figure when things get heated. We need to look after this lad. 3. Hutton, he's been at the rough end lately of things that sometimes get said, he should have had a goal if it wasn't for fate denying him, but I'm giving him the recognition as if it went in, deserved. I've always known he can get some decent crosses in to, that often has the opposition on the back foot. It was a much deserved draw against the league leaders last night, and could have just have been quite easily a win. Gale was outstanding and refreshing as usual with that same positive air about him. The whole team produced a standard last night that ought to be the minimum for every week, we don't expect you to win, we just want to see the passion, and the travelling fans last night were rewarded for their journey. It was also good to see the owner who's had to duck a lot of unhappy fans recently, well actually he didn't duck them because he stood up to be counted and answered questions during that rough journey. Last night he had something to be cheerful and pleased about, as I always say, positivity breeds positivity and in to the next game. So from the backroom guy to the owner, thanks to everyone of you.
