Incidentally, I didn't see it mentioned on here (sorry if I missed it) but Athletic Club U21 beat Blackburn U21 in stoppage time to knock us out the U21 International Cup thing. Shame but a great effort to come third in the group considering some of the clubs in there with us.
Two really good assists from Gerugusian. There's always a concern when big lads do well in Academy football as it may be hard to gauge how their ability will translate in first team football when everyone has caught up and is a similar size, with Gerugusian though, he's consistently played up from his age group, which should be the leveller, and he's still performed.
One of the reasons I like watching the U21 is just listening to (what I assume is) Murty scream. It doesn't matter if its praise or criticism. Looking like this could be another 5-0 win tbh.
Genuinely like him tbh. From what I’ve seen he seems a very natural 9 which is what he was described as. Drops deep well and seems to be a good finisher
Did you hear Murty coaching our defender after he was shirt pulling their winger? So good, honestly we're so far ahead of these clubs now we give live coaching in-game from the sideline, give that man an extension.
Abdullahi will need to adjust to the hectic pace of the championship but his finishing looks precise. Finn theGooseman also looks a great find.
