It was made into a big thing here in WA. Our Premier Roger Cook was asked if he thought her comments were racist. He said they weren’t.
Just don't know what sort of world we are living in where someone can say that with a. Straight face.
His wife is indigenous. I can only assume he has been ‘ideologically captured’. I’ll be honest, it was that comment alone which made me realise how out of touch he is. The state ALP are a joke.
The far left and academia have retroactively decided that racism can only be experienced by those in the minority in a country. Car-full of lads in Birmingham followed me home one night after I finished my shift at a pub, shouting dirty white boy, spitting and flicking lit cigarettes at me. I'm just pleased to learn it had nothing to do with race.
It sounds horrible to say, but you can tell by looking at her that she'd be the kind to pull that kind of trick. The "big I am, you're beneath me" entitled stunt. Then play the gender/sexual orientation/minority card to try and get out of it. I wonder if the cab has a video in it? Most of the taxis I've been in up this way have them, I'm guessing London cabs are the same, so that should be a bit of evidence if they do.
Really silly from her makes her look awful, 50-100 quid for a cleaning fee and an apology doesn't really seem a lot when its cost you a lot of reputation and face. Nothing to do with race just common decency, cabbies aren't exactly rolling in it.
They can't see what they're doing, they're sowing the seeds for the very thing they're accusing everybody of.
Surely racism is racism. Same as the N word. If a rap song uses it on Spotify and you’ve never seen the artist. How do you know whether it’s ok or offensive, genuine question? Funny old world.
Apparently she is invoking the Claremont Serial Killer defence. A whole generation of Western Australian females are living in fear of being abducted by taxi drivers. In short three young women were murdered after being abducted when supposedly getting into a taxi in Claremont, a suburb of Perth in the 1990s. The actual killer was identified as Bradley Robert Edwards a technician with Telstra (equivalent of British Telecom). He was never a taxi driver and he used his Telstra liveried vehicle to pick the girls up in. He was arrested in 2018 and found guilty in 2020 of the murder of two of the three girls although it is highly likely that he murdered the other one. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claremont_serial_killings
As soon as you add an adjective, that identifies a racial/religious/coloured/whatever group, to the phrase, 'F*ck off you ****** bastard' it's racism or equally illegal/offensive imo, otherwise it's fine If there was no intent then there was no need to add it. I regularly called a group of people 'darkies' who were an organisation, I worked for, who called themselves 'The Darkies'. They provided security for pubs, clubs, etc, in Nottingham, and used that name to distinguish themselves from the Baileys and other white firms. If I'd called one of their punters a darkie even with no malice, which I never would, that would be racism imo ... ... I don't see any difference here.
Well I thinks she’s an absolutely abhorrent woman. On the night in question she was pi$$ed up, threw up in a taxi, refused to pay for it to be cleaned, was abusive and obnoxious to the taxi driver. Police turn up, she resists arrest and is abusive to the policeman, and continuing to be thoroughly disgusting in the police station. Women/people like her belong in a feckin zoo. She should be deported to Australia, the ugly racist bitch. Bart
