This probably being a one hit wonder, I don't mind biting the bullet! A pity that this isn't deemed to be a Derby, it might have given the players more excuse to produce a winning performance. Anyones guess what kind of XI Juric will put out, one CB and one striker is never going to hack it.
Osprey dropping in on his annual migration from Africa to be this weeks sacrificial lamb. You're a bit early Osprey, I wasn't expecting you until late March.
I don't think I've ever feared a game so much in living memory (apart from against Pompey). The fact that Bournemouth are (aren't!!) our other local rivals just makes it that little bit worse. Honestly with the way they are playing, coupled with the fragility of Juric's no striker / slow midfield / one centre-back shenanigans, I think we're in for an absolute pasting. Only hope I am clinging onto, is that Juric actually learnt something from the Burnley non-performance (even though he didn't allude to anything in his interview), and that he puts out a more practical midfield/defence. Just to rub it in, I feel like the players who would actually understand the significance of it being a derby, are the likes of Adarma, Stephens and Downes, who are obviously all missing. Bompey on the others hand will have a spine of players who will very much know the importance of the game to their fans. I can't see them going lightly on us, like Spurs did in the second half. If we make it to 30 mins without conceding, I'll be gobsmacked.
I still have the away game etched in my head. Was working away in Spain that eve & was desperately trying to get a link to follow game. Couldn’t & by the time I’d given up, came on here to see how we were performing, we were 2-0 down & by all accounts playing absolute ****e. That was the game SR should have dumped RM. Still water under the bridge now - sort of but not, if you get my drift. And now after Saturday’s debacle, just can’t see anything other than a B’mouth win. Hoping it’s not a humiliation. Still can’t believe what a fcuk up this season has been …. and continues to be. COYS (in really tiny letters).
I'm not dreading it specifically because it's Bournemouth, more because they play in a style which is undoubtedly going to cause us problems. Similar to how I felt before the Spurs game. For me personally at least losing 5-0 to then won't hurt anymore than the Brentford game did, and arguably would be less given I'm completely expecting a hammering this weekend whereas I was relatively optimistic going into Brentford. I just don't see any way we get a result here. They're miles ahead of us in basically every position and currently have their best team ever with loads to play for whilst we have our worst (top flight at least) ever and a team who give up at the first sign of something going against us. Ironically the only way we would have a chance is if the fans actually considered them a rival as the atmosphere would match and potentially lift the players. But the majority of us aren't arsed about disliking them and you can't force that sort of feeling. That said it wouldn't surprise me if Saturday was the start of more people disliking them. They always bring plenty of knobheads down and we're an unhappy bunch at the minute. I'm a bit concerned that a huge away win combined with an unfamiliar security arrangement could lead to a fair bit of trouble. Hopefully I'm wrong but this will be the first test of the new layout.
Just put my season ticket up on the exchange. 6-1 Bompey win. I can at least turn it off at 3 or 4 goals.
What I'd like to see: Ramshackle KWP bednarek wood Wellington Ugochukwu Downes Dibling hernandez sulemana Onuachu What were likely to see: Ramshackle Bree bednarek manning Kwp ugochukwu aribo Wellington Dibling fernandez Onuachu
We put ours on the exchange in the afternoon Hopefully get some spondoolics to spend on an away game next season in the EFL
Was about to post the same thing until I read this. I do wonder how our season would have turned out if we had sacked him then. I think the board would have been willing to spend more on his replacement so we could well have got Rohl.
