    Morning Luv.

It's cold out today, you don't often see me say that, but I had brush the cobwebs off a coat to keep this Southern pussy warm out. I had the light come on in the car saying it was cold as well...so put the heater on as well. No defrosting though...so not really cold.

Very true Gessa...noticing it more and more, especially in the hands...and that can make it very painful trying to manoeuvre on a guitar neck. :(

Fitted a Blink doorbell today. Like a ring doorbell, but cheaper.
Got a unit that has a USB port so it will store stuff, so doesn’t need a subscription for clips.

Yeah that's a good price at the moment I'd never spend a lot of money on one but £34 is good.

just checked and it was £38.99 with the sync unit, so can add other blink devices. But not sure would need anything else as I already have cameras.

I've got a blink camera but not a doorbell one, It's more of an indoor device, works ok though, had it a few years now and never changed the battery in it. I think my lad bought it, I'm not aware of any subscription with it, unless that's something he's not told me lol.

It saves clips and everything, got an app on my phone for it. I don't really want a doorbell one, the sound of doorbells can **** right off but I know loads of people have them now, the camera ones that is. I keep dreading someone buying me one for Christmas....no!

I was reading an article yesterday in the Guardian about how invasive they become, had to agree with the article, but I understand when people are out working all day it gives them peace of mind. I'll try and find the article...

    Here it is: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/feb/09/is-it-time-to-ring-the-alarm-on-internet-door-cameras

Interesting article, you either accept the fact that you can be monitored through these devices or don't have them. That's my opinion on it. Simple really.

I think my main concerns with them are areas around domestic violence, stalkers and child abuse and how they may become a tool against their victims. Much like doing away with cash and making everything digitalised. In the same way that governments could abuse there use, but on a more private controlling level. Not just doorbell cams, but I'm referring to indoor ones as well, and dashcams.

Example from a quick google: https://survivorsforum.womensaid.org.uk/forums/topic/camera-doorbell-trapped/

While it also has its positives: https://www.nottinghamshire.police....c-abuse-as-force-partner-with-victims-family/

My doorbell camera will catch me 4 x a week rushing kids out to school and a glimps of my thinning hair/expanding crown at 8:20am and then rushing them back in from school at 3:30pm muttering. And 1 x my thinning hair and mumbling about my **** commute at 5:00am.
