With his drive and trickery… could he be a plan B option on the right as a sub later on in games? he was a bag of energy yesterday and if replicated in the PL that could be an asset.
There was already a thread made on this one, and I posted saying he had all the attributes to do a job there.
He actually looks far better on the right than in the middle. The only concern is he seems to be a bit like Joelinton in the final action. He's on the edge and loses balance when getting his effort away. Falling backwards a lot.
The strength and skill is very reminiscent of Joelinton, he'll get more goals when he gets more game time. Dunno if he'll be a striker, but he looks like a very useful player.
Actually I think he possibly could do a job there because he can drive forward with the ball and seems to have some strength, however I don't see him winning tackles, so probably not.. Joelinton can pass.
He doesn't make it look easy mind. He's really having to grind it all out. He's a rough diamond maybe only time will tell.
Have to agree.. Joelinton was clearly able to do the tacking and passing required to play in the middle and he did actually play there before hoffenheim.
As I just said, he has real pace as well, so he's not just a strength player....Howe could mould Joelinton, so I'm sure he'll work out how to use Osula. Proper took his chance yesterday.
Howe didn't really mould Joelinton he just moved him there out of necessity and admitted that. Joelinton played cm in Brazil, so if anything he was always just being used in the wrong position. Osula? Not sure yet looks a bit frantic to me but definitely better on the right based on the little we've seen.
Well not mould Joelinton, but you know what I mean, starting him regularly in his best position. Osula from what I've seen - played well as main striker vs Wimbledon and hit the post, scored that great goal against Bromley, and showed a strong physical side yesterday. You can't read anything into the injury time sub appearances, so what I've properly seen of him all looks positive.
He looked good, but consider the opponent. If Murphy needs to be rested Osula looks like the best option and I'd like to see how he gets on vs a side that's a bit better.
I like to spin it around - ie imagine Birmingham thinking they'd come up against a much changed team and could bully our young forward. Reality was the total opposite happened.
He still looks raw and inexperienced up front understandably but has pace, strength, determination, skill and a good first touch. For now RW probably best for him where you can get away with a bit of inexperience but can get valuable minutes on the pitch.
He's very rough around the edges but I likes what I sees so far with him. Once he's been here a bit longer and had the full Joelinton and Murphy treatment from Howe et al he's gonna be the real deal I reckon.
