I haven’t been pro Ange for a while now to be fair and I’m indifferent to levy, I’d be quite intrigued to see what happened if he did leave. Ill stick up for him though like I will anyone when I think people are being harsh and the criticism is unjustified. I know it wasn’t your response but Son’s a club legend and I’ll always love him but what is he doing to try and help us besides getting upset after the game. It’s just summing up the weak mentality of the squad.
I think that’s probably it for Ange, whether it’s now or at the end of the season will depend on who we want to replace him. Even if we get players back and stabilise in the league and make a good fist of the EL, there’s just too much wrong. He’s far from the only person culpable for where the team finds itself right now. But the team just isn’t coached well. There’s no structure and no purpose. That’s firmly on the manager.
Same here. It’s the hope that kills you but I don’t have any hope no more! I think Levy/Ange/the players have done this to us on purpose to decrease our expectations?
Aston Villa are a bigger club than Tottenham, so don't get too disheartened lads. You'll have better days, and you'll have to just roll with the punches for a few years.
The clue is in the word : MANAGER. Can he manage a squad (choose the starting Xis/formations, change it in real time, utillise the bench when appropriate, ensure cumulative fatigue injuries are spread etc) ?? If not, then he is a COACH. What kind of coach then ?? One that understands good systems and formations (attack, defence, physical sustainability etc) and can drill it into all of his squad so they play it instinctively ?? If not, then he has no place at Spurs ever.
6 years ago we were in the CL final Villa were in the play offs They sold their best player(Grealish) Been in the championship had a stevie G now they in the CL and got a top manager and lots of smart recruitment with playing staff us? Ange can be in , out or shakin it all about but our problems come from right at the top at the end of the day we are not a serious football club
Tel looks a decent player, but he's another winger who likes to cut inside. We're already overloaded down the left and the system requires width. Postecoglou isn't the right man to get the best out of this squad, regardless of anything else.
Correct. And so why isn't Porro getting the worst of the flack for losing his defensive position in the first minute?
Meh, a fully expected defeat and half arced performance, with the highlight of the game being the Levy out chants. The away fans were terrific, Levy really does not deserve fans like ours. Ange in or Ange out, Jose, Poch, Conte, Basil Brush etc.... it really does not matter who our manager is under this circus of an ownership. We may get some improvement by replacing Ange, but not enough to ever challenge seriously.
this. he may have made some good saves, and Son may have missed a sitter. But that piece of goalkeeping was literally the last thing we needed, when a response to the Liverpool game was so important. 1 minute in, and we’re broken by a piece of goalkeeping that anyone on this forum could have saved. I know he’s a young lad, but it’s basic stuff.
Going back to what I said to RCL a page or so ago, the way our midfield prioritises physicality is doomed to fail as things currently stand If we want a physical midfield, our midfield needs to be a trio of Sandros who will hunt down anyone who so much as looks at our side of the halfway line and then recycle the ball out wide like Norbert's system required, or have a Parker and a Sandro shielding a deeper playmaker which Juventus did under both Conte and Allegri And we just cannot do that, as we have neither the trio of jackals to make Norbert's system work, while we couldn't make the Conte/Allegri system work because while Sarr, Gray and maybe Bergvall can work in the shielding role, even if you shoved Bentancur and Bissouma into a teleporter you still wouldn't get Pirlo coming out the other side and instead you'd need to grab a mop
