Well the experiment failed, but only 1-0. Sarr for Bentancur is one option. Porro off and Reguilon LB + Spence RB is another.
There’s so much wrong it’s hard to even know where to start with the changes. Son off, Moore on the left, Kulu on the right, Tel’s a big quick lad who might be able to give their CBs more to think about. Then we probably want Ben Davies on so Gray can move into midfield and try and anchor us a bit more.

I think the worst thing about Ange is that he has made me feel so disconnected from the team. Even in the dark days of the early 2000’s I felt more for the team than I do now. Maybe that’s also an effect of years of disappointment and not just Ange. But I can’t see what his plan is anymore. We are not even particularly good to watch either. That was his saving grace
Awful from start to finish of that half, our midfield is totally absent, we could lose all of three of them Sarr for all my criticism recently does give us legs and chases down as does Bissouma. Davies and Sarr as HT subs for me get Gray to sit in front of the 2 cbs and Sarr to do the box to box stuff, you can take off any of the midfielders. I did think Tel had a few decent touches, need to get the ball to him and Moore more frequently.
First 20 minutes we couldn't get near them but from then on we starting to bite back. Bergwal is trying to make a difference but Villa still dominate in midfield. If Bentancur wakes up we could change things around.
