Threw this thread out there as you may want to comment on Liverpool following tonights televised Spurs encounter. Don't think we will see many of those on Sunday. COYG
Having just had a big match last night....it will be interesting to see what sought of team they put out against us... seeing that their next league match is Everton.
For sure their priorities are 1) the Premier League (haven't won it since 2019/20) and 2) the Champions League. They are already in the League Cup final, or whatever they call it now. It doesn't matter does it? It's a day out and we're not expecting other than a defeat are we? For sure, whatever side they put out will be chock full of internationals and top quality youngsters. To quote Arne Slot as in turn quoted by the BBC: Liverpool are still fighting on all four fronts so he will "definitely use some players that haven't played that much" for Sunday's FA Cup tie. He believes it is a good opportunity for some players to get more minutes in their legs: "If you never play them then it is so difficult for them to be ready, if we do get some injuries or suspensions." The Reds "want to be competing for every trophy" this season, so he will not "complain" about the number of games they are going to have to play.
"It doesn't matter does it"?????????????????????? Wot the feck notdistant. Wash your mouth out or in this case your keyboard.
So no giant killing to note so far in the 4th round of the cup. Maybe this afternoon will bring one.....I would think Liverpool will have at least 8 or 9 changes from their last match when they thrashed Spurs. This is the team they put out for that important match......... Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, van Dyke, Robertson, Gravenberch,Jones, Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Nunez. Kelleher is seen as their second keeper so he will probably start.....Will Salah travel or will he be totally rested. Man C rested many for the Orient game ....Haaland didn't travel.....and only bringing on De Bruyne near the end brought that little bit of magic to see them over the line with out extra time being needed. Settee already in position.....will Argyle be strong in defence and steal a winning goal ???
Hazard, Pleguezuelo, Hardie, Wright, Bundu, Puchacz, Gyabi,Randell, Katic, Sorinola,Talovierov. Subs Grimshaw, Mumba, Houghton, Obafemi, Boateng, Tijani, Al Hajj, Baidoo, Palsson. Liverpool start only Kelleher from the Spurs game.....plus Nunez and Jones on the bench.
0-0...H/T Liverpool deserve to lose this....bringing only three first team players....is totally disrespectful.
1-0....F/T. Hardie.....53mins (pen) Liverpool deserve everything they've got....Disrespectful to the competition and to Argyle for not taking it serious enough.
Thank you.....No more than Liverpool deserved put out that team of kids with only juniors on the bench.....the FA Cup deserves better than that.
What an afternoon. As the Liverpool squad came into the stadium, I realised I only recognised 2 or 3 and one of those was their second string keeper. Muslic had obviously expected more as he’d done for strength rather that subtlety to stop a stronger Liverpool side from overrunning us. The stadium was bouncing and at point the Demport End were able to advise Liverpool that “your support is f***ing s**t”. Make no mistake, yes this wasn’t Liverpool’s first team by some distance but Muslic’s Argyle isn’t the aimless, shapeless shambles we saw under Foster and Rooney. This lot WILL run through brick walls. What an afternoon.
Where on earth did the referee find 9mins of injury time....little suspicious personally. The Liverpool fans should be asking for their money back having to travel all that way just to watch their reserves get beaten. Big clubs are treating the FA Cup with no respect and are not taking the opposition seriously.
