Going to be a realy horrible game this. one of those where if can take a scrappy 1-0 and get it over and done with.
Not sure what injury gomez got tbh. Chiesa is just absolutely unable to run at any pace. We had a lad in Sunday league like him. About 10 years after he was a veteran he was still trying to play and he'd have his legs moving but he would be standing still like a cartoon character. Eventually he'd slowly move off. Cheisa is trying and working but there's zero there in terms of anything that would worry a defender. It's just pretty one paced and predictable. Nothing to worry us either though so once we get nyoni off before he gets sent off we will be ok
Oh and mabaya. Silly boy But the structure of what we were doing set him.up for failure. Pump the thing down the line
Only debating points for us is really who is worse for us. Several players vying for the nomination of looking like they should be playing for Plymouth
Doesn’t seem to be any purpose or urgency, players in acres being ignored for the backwards pass etc. Got to be braver if you want to play for LFC
This performance proves there is a world of difference between introducing a couple of youngsters to a first team game, and playing mainly inexperienced youngsters with a few first team players. Although Plymouth are bottom of the championship they have a couple of internationals in the team and play together all the time. I think Nunez will come on if matters do not improve with Nyoni going off and Jota dropping back
My.list of Plymouth level players. Elliott. Chiesa (barely) Nyoni Jota If you are going to play senior football for lfc you have to impose yourself on this level. Chiesa is magically slow on the ball. He looks like a legend player who's about 48. Elliott just needs to be the 10 here and be the one setting the standard if he wants to compete with jones and szoboszlai. We need him to realise this. Nyoni isn't ready for senior players. He's very young and this is all too quickly for him so far. Jota isn't too arsed. If it goes up to him in a good position he bothers otherwise he's not drive any closing down as a team You want just a.bit more from this lot.
Really poor from Elliott. Wasn’t needed as ball is just sailing through to Kelleher but guess just natural instincts to stick your arm up there. Even more unbearable game now as Plymouth sit deep and launch long more.
We seem like we watch difference games some times. Nyoni been perfectly fine. Got on the ball when he can and looked forward and positive. chiesa isn’t getting the ball. When he does he’s up against a left back cb and a midfielder so has no where to go. Plymouth just 11 behind the ball so there isn’t space. We don’t have players to pass the ball and take it in tight areas like we usually do in jones szobo TAA Mac in midfield so everything is slow and safe.
Fine for a 17 year old. Chiesa is hilariously bad. Diaz might not be getting it either but when he gets it he is at least dangerous but chiesa. My god.
While we are not great the pitch looks as rough as rough can be in terms of bobbling about. Plenty of forwards but zero midfield or ability to bring forwards into play in any space is a fairly obvious issue. No options to change it equals a loss in the cup and move.onto the derby ASAP.
