Second half, yes. Especially as the half went on, after the goal, they showed real heart. Let's not get carried away though, we could have been buried by half time. Huge three points all the same.
I didn't see us winning this fixture, it was very close indeed, had that Bristol shot gone in off the post, they would have taken the game in my view, but I'll take the win given how rare they are at the minute.....
Second half I thought we got at them more. But of tenacity in the team. O Brien looks a good player, just needs a few games to bed in. Is he an improvement on Grimes, we shall see.
The good thing is we're 5 points clear of Stoke in 18th, which leaves seven teams fighting it out. Slight breathing room, for now.
I cannot say I am overly excited by the win if I am honest, don't want to put a dampener on proceedings, but we lose and give the ball away far too easily, and invite unessesary pressure most games. We have a long way to go, with our football for sure. Let's see what happens on Wednesday!
A far more committed performance. The team actually looked like they wanted to come away today with something. O’Brien had a very good first game. He came with good reports about his energy levels and he certainly demonstrated that today.
Happy with the win obviously, but that first half was as bad as I’ve seen us. The inability to pass to one of our own players was shocking. Bristol should have been out of sight really. Second half was an improvement, but still not great by any stretch. It was nice to see them putting their bodies on the line with some of the defending though and credit where credit’s due. However the majority of their chances were gifted to them by said defence. A win midweek against Sheff Wednesday coupled with an improved performance and maybe we can look up a bit.
Reaction from the players,IMO,seemed they were fully behind LW. Maybe Grimes was a problem. Thoughts?
