Yeah but if we win and win with a swagger many will say well done in resting the lads against Millwall in the reserve cup. I think we did the right call. win lose or draw at Watford this game is 100% more important than the cup game.
Of course we did. Yesterday showed we’ve a smallish squad. Once you go past our top 18 the rest are only stocking fillers. Most likely thing to derail our season would be injuries so important to do everything possible to keep key players fit as much as possible. Doubt Farke will Spend anytime at training Monday analyzing yesterday’s game. The focus will be on preparing for Watford I’d hope
I agree and think the team Farke started should be beating Millwall but it's still a terrible showing of our squad and something we need to remember if we go up.
If we had managed go on and get to Wembley there would have been 300k+ application for tickets from all around the world **** the cup they say.
My Halifax supporting mate doesn't bother with the cups either, yet he's twice managed to make it to Wembley for FA Trophy finals
Clubs inform the FA/EFL about 6 months before the season starts, as to their choice of preference as to which day they wish to play midweek fixtures. With a rearranged fixture, the league may tell both clubs that the game needs to be played within a certain date range, and both clubs will come to an agreement as to which week the match will be played. The match will then be played on the day that the home club has previously stated as their preferred choice for midweek games, subject to police / tv companies etc requesting the day be changed The away club may request the game be played on a different day, but providing that there is at least 48 hours between the away clubs previous and forthcoming games, then the home club do not need to consider that request. All of Coventry's midweek home games this season have been on a Wednesday, so it was not unexpected that they arranged to play us on that day.
And the point being. If we lose at Watford then we do and if there’s players injured that also happens but at least they won’t have been injured in a meaningless FA cup clash
Can happen to the best teams it would appear..... The Premier League leaders may have made those 10 changes but this has still been a distinctly average Liverpool display.
I wouldn’t have swapped Plymouths win for all the tea in China right now. Historic for them and great but for what ultimately? I would love for someone like Brighton to win the cup and it to mean the world to their fans but Eire is right, for us it’s just a potential problem right now
Every season fans expect great things of our second eleven and think they’ll be as strong as the first eleven when selected. They never are and this season is no different. We had a few yesterday that will never make it even at the level we’re at. Chambers however was a revelation I thought. At least it may open the 49ers eyes a bit if they think we only need to do a bit of minor tweaking in the summer if promoted
The 'team' we put out was good enough to win the game. The problem with wholesale changes are that it disrupts the chemistry of the team, the flow of the passing etc. Ramazani in for James as a one off change wouldn't disrupt the team too much. Rothwell in for Gruev wouldn't disturb the chemistry as a one off but when you make 10 changes it usually becomes very scrappy. That's what we saw. It shouldn't have any effect on Tuesday at all although I always say winning is a habit and so is losing. Lose on Tuesday and it's 2 on the bounce.
But they will have been injured with 15 matches to go so it made no difference if they were injured in the FA cup or the championship as there would be 15 matches to go including the game they were playing in , there is still all those matches to go and if 2 players are out of action for the rest of the season or the fa cup it would be no difference than not playing in fa cup if we lost in both matches as they would still be out for the rest of the season.
Sorry but the FA cup does mean something it means all the prestige around the world watched by millions of people who somewill become Leeds fans if we win it and the money involved for leeds , ALSO don't forget entry to European matches , even if say liverpool win the premiership and win the cup if we are in the final we would still qualify for Europe.
So does that mean that leeds are never going to win any cup competition ? As for when we get into the premiership , we will then be saying oh we have to rest players cause we got to stay in the premier league ??? And don't say we have no chance of winning it , when teams like wigan and Wimbledon come to mind.
I see the Millwall fans were their usual class act. Both clubs commenting on them chanting about the Gslatasary murders.
