A lot have unfortunately written him off. It seems they formed an opinion based on the little they have seen and then look for confirmations they are right (not saying that is you mind but a few around me slagged the lad before he even kicked a ball) I liked what I saw I the U21 match recently and confident he can do a job off the bench for us once he’s in full swing.
Poveda won the ball against boro? When is fell over trying to shoot? It looked like a horrific tackle
I don’t even see the control if I’m honest. Thought Watford were comfortable first half, as were Plymouth. It’s the energy especially in the first half of games and we are really poor at finishing games off even with great chances. Become a must win midweek for me now
Think it’s about our ‘best XI’ and the sorts of games they’re great in. Solid, disciplined and hard working. It’s why we always turn up against the best the league has to offer. And why I’d be confident if it is to be the playoffs. However that best XI probably doesn’t quite have enough creativity to break down teams that come to sit back. Hopefully more attacking options - and more willingness from RLB to use them - will see us better able to break down this type of team.
We're certainly capable of beating any team but struggle with consistency. You’d think, after Boro, they’d hit the pitch full of confidence but they weren’t. I also think we’re trying too hard to play ‘nice football’ tbh … … it was only when we let loose that Watford panicked and gave us the chances at the end.
From memory yeah he did. Doesn’t really matter either way. I’m half expecting a foul whenever a winger makes a challenge. Mundle was terrible for it - particularly last season. Hopefully Poveda stays fit, improves sharpness and shows us what he showed for Wednesday in the run-in.
They had lots of the ball but didn’t really create much from memory. We seemed happy to use this as a ‘rest’ game. Fine if it works but a razors edge that can go against you in a moment. Make it to half time at 1-0 and we go on to win that relatively straightforwardly imo.
We’ve played **** and still not been beaten, irrespective of what went on the previous 90 minutes, those two chances in injury time were the best of the game. They were well made with incisive passing and but for poor finishing we would have won that game. Watford wouldn’t have deserved to lose, but who ****ing cares, their game of playing the ref worked for them. I can’t blame them for trying, but I can blame the twat who fell for it
Just watching the goals back. Never a penalty in a million years. Barely any contact with the player and it was basically hip to hip. Sums up the ref's performance which was as bad as I've seen in a long time...
They really took the piss out of the ref but spent half the game chatting to them … … he always has his back to the keeper when kicking off. It slowed the game down which was what they wanted.
Aged 10 years when that shot from the halfway line nearly dropped in. Still haven't ****ing calmed down
Why do we always have to use the others dropping points as an excuse for us doing the same? It’s not good enough to draw at home with two teams who’ve lost over 20 away games between them this season it’s as simple as that, regardless of whether we go to Leeds and pump them 5-0.
terrible game that mind, we got the lead then seemed to back off allowing them to have the ball and they simply grew in confidence, prior to that they were being forced into mistakes and we failed to take advantage...commentators (watford) were talking about that is just the way we play, to give the opposition plenty of the ball and let them play. this squad is capable of beating anyone in this league and most of them with ease yet today they played like a team just thrown together at times, we maybe could/should have snatched it at the end but why do we always wait until we are a goal down to start playing with any energy. thought riggy had a bad game and would have been happier to see mayenda come on for him sooner but it is all a learning curve for these lads, he just does not seem the same since his injury. now the ref, i have no idea what he has against us but i knew we would not get much off him, seemed very willing to hand the cards out for our lads, can't complain about the penalty and maybe if i watched the full 90 again i would find that he got most right, i just feel the cards could have been 'shared about' more and isidor should have had a penalty especially after the one he gave them...there was an instance when one of ours was given a hefty push in the back which was followed by a bad foul right on the touchline yet he gave them a throw in, also noticed their coach having a nice little chat and giggle with the 4th official (or maybe the linesman).
The thing is mate, I don’t mind him giving it , well sort of, but like I said to the bloke behind me, I look forward to the 100s of free kicks he is going to give in the second half. Plus if he gives that he has to give the foul on Isidor. If you get the chance to look at it again , watch him for the opening goal. It’s like he is trying to persuade the linesman to flag. I watched him when he guessed that corner he gave us, he took an age to give it. When the ball was recycled he blew and held his hand up for offside. And I am in line with the 6 yard box, I immediately looked up to the Lino, and he was just in the process of flagging, so he ****ing gave that, not the man who should be
You've put it a lot more succinctly than I could've. I think by pushing Neil further forward, it nullifies what he's good at and that's getting the ball and playing it. Samed is more of a get it and give it kind of player. He just seemed to upset the dynamic. The whole side just didn't seem to be at it today, whether that was a result of Monday or they just thought they had to just turn up, we'll never know. Mayenda offers something when he's on the pitch alongside Isidor and Reggie might just have to rejig to try and get him in the team
