By 2 goals minimum? Thats some stat considering our position. Like i said, eventually these knife edged games are gonna start ending in defeat, which is my worry.
Just a slight positive from me as I sign off for the day. Thought RLBs use of subs was good today. Mayenda and Aleksic in particular.
Amount of sitters we miss must be breaking some records now but didn’t deserve to win. Either Aleksic on the left with elf in the middle or mayenda for Rigg needed imo. Rigg works hard but isn’t creating anything and hasn’t for a while.
Not impressed with poveda. But overall we were, at best, average today. No real creativity. Midfield average. Cirkin deserves a kick in the sore parts. He gave an unnecessary penalty away after a brilliant save fron patto. Ballard has to start. At least we kept our home record ..... somehow.
Once everyone is back fit, we will be fine. unbeaten in the league this year. two points off Burnley in second and 7 off Leeds. Calling for RLB to go is stupid and suicidal. it’s a marathon not a sprint. 15 games to go. We are sitting pretty in 4th. Closer to the top than we were under Mowbray who played the Same players all the time.. when they needed to be rested.
Yeah and our short term results went in the bin. This time we can not afford that. Ok when we are mid table. Not when we are chasing top 2.
We need to stay close to the top two whilst players are returning from injury. we can still do this but these games we have to play better
Poor game from us today, got the goal lead and really did nothing after. Midfield seemed non existent at times, Samed looked out of sorts compared to the Boro have but so did others. Roberts offered nothing and Isidor was seriously isolated. I thought we missed Jobe today and when he's not playing you see what he brings to the game. Referee was an absolute joke, Watford started play acting in the first minute and how you can't give a penalty when a defender has his arms wrapped around Isidor and lifts him off the floor is totally gobsmacking. To little to late to rescue the face but still could've won it in the end. Thought we'd get in the top 2 but playoffs for me now unless there's a massive shift in the 3 teams above us
Two points dropped before kick off, one point gained at full time flat and lacking energy and struggling to get the ball off Watford. It’s one thing sitting in and absorbing but when you can get the second ball it’s just more pressure. square pegs and round holes in the side, samed is fine but his profile didn’t compliment the line up, he replaced a box to box in jobe with a cdm. poor individual performances and another gifted goal in regards to the penalty, which is undeniably a theme. two 1on1s to win it but that would have over shadowed an under par afternoon.no easy games in the league and a point could be beneficial as hopefully Burnley and Sheffield have a blip to.
Just turned around to Sartori and Bellingham’s father having a conversation behind me at the club shop
That was as bad as I've seen from us, Watford sharper all over the pitch. They had better ball retention, passing and sheer desire. We looked really leggy. Samed slowed us down too much, neat and tidy but we need to play with more urgency, especially at home. Mayenda simply has to start for me on Wednesday which has become a must win to keep up with the automatic places. Playing on Monday and then early kick off today is proper **** scheduling too mind.
Had a couple of half decent chances first half - one he should have left to (I think) Neil. He’s still a good player and it’s okay to see him start, but the second half in particular he was flagging and failing to impact things on the ball. He should have been hooked for Mayenda at 60 mins. RLB slow with subs and rotation. Love him - and understand his reasons - but it’s something that can hurt us in moments.
Another tight game. That’s just us, we’re nowhere near as good as some claim. Months since we won a game comfortably
