Yeah I don't mind paying more for good quality, can be hit and miss when you're travelling unless you get a good recommendation. Often find that some of the street food is some of the best local food you can get, but again, it's hit and miss whether you get something amazing, or a boiled pigeon deep fried in batter.
expensive **** from what I hear they’ve locked parts off that you can only enter by paying, such as the colloseum, used to be free food bound to be touristy ****e 3 days more than enough imo will update you
Yeah that's pretty much where I'm at with it and why I'm not overly keen. Told him if we go it'll likely only be a couple days and then we can fly to Sicily for a bit longer. He literally only wants to go for the coliseum I think
You can see most sites in 3 - and can walk it all from a central location -I went on my honeymoon - admittedly that's a long time ago now!... but loved it
Hoping to push the button on a cruise out of Southampton at the end of May. Two weeks round Portugal , Spain, France or Italy. it’s on a big ship for the same price as a week out of Malta at a similar time of year. Seems like a no brainer?
Booked it. Opted for the one round Portugal , Spain and France. As much is I would like to visit Florence the transfer times to get from the ship to the city is a bit **** to truly appreciate the place. so the stops are Lisbon, never been there, Malaga, never been other than flown in the went elsewhere, Alicante, I know my way round there, Toulon, never been, Barcelona , not been since I was child then Cadiz, then back home..
Some nice stops there. Lisbon and Malaga are lovely. Barcelona is a bit **** now tbh, too busy. Depends how long you get off tht boat to get out of the tourist bits, but I assume you won't have much time. My only memory of Cadiz is I fell asleep in the beach, stoned, and had my bag nicked. Passport, money, camera, the lot. Had to get back to Sevilla in the train toilet. Which was nice.
generally you get from 7am til 5pm in port. Some may be later won’t know until we’re on board. All I want to do in Barcelona is is look at the Sagra familiar. Plus the Casa Mila and casa batlo. All designed by Gaudi. Will hopefully meet up with family in Alicante and get my folks and sister to come and meet us. haven’t looked at what tours are possible in the other places. Will probably just get off have a mooch about and try the local beers . Looking forward to Lisbon and Cadiz. Will do a bit research for things to do.
Winter holiday in two weeks. Can't wait, best week of the year. Absolute **** ton of snow over the past couple of weeks so conditions are going to be A1. This is the year to do in my knee, I can feel it!
Trip to Majorca planned with family and mate's family - Cala D'or - 10 nights in June. Away to Malaga for 5 nights with a crew of 10 lads (The Growing Old Club) - it's our 10 year anniversary of bunging £20 a month in a pot and having a weekend away each year somewhere (usually some market town where we can't cause too much upset). Using the excess savings to go abroad and Malaga is easy for everyone to get to. Got a big Airbnb that's like something off The Business. Will be lively. Mrs also keen for a mini break to San Sebasatian, so we'll see how that pans out.
Beautiful place, especially as you're into food and Rioja. You can't go wrong. Assume you live in Newcastle? Look at flights to Biarritz, rather than Bilbao. It's actually closer. Although either would do really.
I'd try to get inland as well, but that's not a mini break. If you had a week, head into the hills of Basque and into the Rioja region.
