It would, but seeing them walk out at one of the big PL grounds first game after going up automatically would be better
Still think there will be plenty twists and turns but I just can't see 2 teams finishing above Leeds this season
There's a long way to go yet, but right now I think we're better than 15 of the 16 teams we're going to face and starting to get more players back. Injuries and suspensions could well be a factor. It's going to be tight. A couple of injuries to star players of any of the 3 teams and that team could slide out of contention. Jobe must be getting close to 10 yellows now. There's probably players in similar situations for Burnley and Sheff Utd. Fine lines, but it's going to be one hell of a finish and our players have done ****in well to get us where we are. Now it's time to finish the job.
Jobe is on 7 or 8 I think and if you have 10 within 37 efl games it is a 2 match ban if you have 15 before the last day of the season it’s a 3 match ban Others are as follows I think Hume, Roberts 7 Mepham, o9, rigg, Isidor 6 Cirkin 4 https://www.thefa.com/-/media/files...-for-players---2024-25---english-version.ashx
Those stats are interesting. A lot of people mention the Plymouth matches (and rightly so), but they seem to stand out even more because they're such an outlier. If you take those 2 games out of it, we've taken 27 points from 30 against the other 7 teams in the bottom 8. Of those middle 8, I think we drew against 4 of them in a row in November - QPR, Millwall, Coventry and Preston. That may have just been a bit of bad form rather than a pattern.
Key games, imo, for other teams. Monday 24th February Sheffield United versus Leeds United kick off 20:00 Tuesday 8th April Middlesbrough versus Leeds United kick off 19:45 Monday 21st April Burnley versus Sheffield United kick off 15:00 Wednesday 12th February Sheffield United versus Middlesbrough kick off 20:00 Sunday 16th March Sheffield Wednesday versus Sheffield United kick off 12:30 I can see Sheff Utd dropping 8 points in just those games ... ... maybe more.
sky sports co commentators are being fitted for “pray for Barry Bannan” branded microphones as we speak
Utd were absolutely splattered 0-3 by Hull a fortnight back ... ... they only managed three attempts on target and were easily beaten. If Hull can do it there's no reason Portsmouth can't.
They’re the one of the 3 in the top 4 I really don’t rate going off our games against them, Burnley aren’t great either but that defence record is unbelievable so they’ll keep nicking games you’d imagine, sheff u just seem to have hoyed a lot of ‘they’ll do a job’ short sighted signings, I could be wrong I often am but I really think we can get ahead of atleast one of them, I feel like the pressure is off us a little bit that can massively work in our favour get the play offs secured asap then go all out
Our remaining fixtures (h) Watford (h) Luton (a)Leeds (h) Hull (a) Sheff Wed March (h) Cardiff (h) PNE (a) Coventry (h)MIlwall ( the return of the bald snake) April (a) WBA (a) Norwich (h)Swansea (a) Bristol city (h)Blackburn rovers (a) Oxford May (h) QPR - potentially last game if everything goes well. some from the last 16 games, how many out of the next 48 points avaiable, what will be our return?
2 points a game as an average would give us 93 points. Is that going to be enough? It feels like it wont be, but with this league being so unpredictable.....
