We should be afraid of every team. We've lost at home to Leicester and Ipswich. Our injuries won't go away with Postecoglou in charge, either. Everyone's rushed back and then crocked again. We also can't play the way that he wants to without risking even more injuries.
I'm hopeful, but I expect to lose in all honesty. I dream of that day, and it would be incredible scenes. it's just another pot for pool. I know I take the piss, but once you get to the decades I know how it feels. It's a mugs game for the mass majority, so all you can do is laugh At least Arsenal are out the FA Cup.
Always look forward to the next game. Hate it when’s their ages between a loss as too much time to stew on it. Villa aren’t great and we have a much better record there than we do at anfield so no reason we can’t get a win.
Liverpool are just superb, an absolute machine and I can see them winning three trophies this season. Thought Spurs even with our injuries would at least give them a game tonight though but that was pitiful. Our midfield and attack was just shocking , weak in the tackle, poor touches and control no invention. Bissouma HAS to be sold in the summer just a liability now. Son a great leader off the pitch but a poor one on it. He was awful tonight. Kulu excellent for most of this season but he’s running down corridors now it’s just not happening for him. Sarr hasn’t been the same player he was last season . Bentancur probably our best midfielder today but he wasn’t great either. Spence excellent again though he really looks a top player. Well at least Liverpool aren’t in the Europa and who knows if we ever get our players back from injury maybe we have a chance in that competition. Finally onto Ange , What happened at HT ? Because we were even worse when we came back onto the pitch they just wiped the floor with us within 5 minutes of the restart. Still think Ange will get the whole season though unless we are knocked out of the Europa early doors.
Yeah, I mean, he's going to have to be a bit more sensible with his tactics and management. But he showed in the 1st leg against Liverpool that he's capable of it, and even in the first half today at Anfield, I didn't think you played that badly at all. The second half was appalling, though. Nonetheless, there's absolutely no team in the Europa who is on a par with this exceptional Liverpool side. No-one comes close. I know you might think I'm bonkers, but genuinely, the distribution of quality in that competition is more evenly matched. You could possibly have a decent crack at it. But like you said, it will depend on how Postecoglou handles the injury situation and whether he can get a few more players back sooner rather than later.
He’s an experienced manager, he’s not some rookie. This is what he is and he won’t change. The injury situation is down the style but he doesn’t see it that way I expect.
Depends on what Villa team turns up, although at the end those Spurs players looked utterly gone. Ange interview afterwards looks like he's broken as well, although some bloody stupid questions being asked as usual! Ultimately we had the chance of a final and simply caved and blew it. Not often I agree with that p**** Carragher but how often do we fail to turn up in "big games"?

I'm with you Brunel. We’re no where near the level of the top prem teams, but I genuinely reckon we’ve got a shot in the Europa. I just don’t see us ****ting our pants quite as badly in the Europa as we do against every half decent premier league team. Not to mention that there’s definitely a drop in quality in those European teams, even if there’s still a few decent ones in there. We can go toe to toe with those, at least. But against the best or even very good English teams? No chance. We’ll get knocked out of the FA cup by Villa comfortably, too.
Liverpool weren’t worried about the first leg as they knew the second leg would be a canter. Winning that game ultimately meant nothing.
Kinsky is no De Gea. With Spurs defensive issues it was madness to sign a kid from a weak league and throw him straight in. Very rare for that to work out. This is damaging his career and more importantly it’s damaging Spurs
Ange's comments post game sound like he didn't set the team up differently, I.e. to sit deeper and absorb pressure. Je suis confused.
Why are some of you saying we can win the Europa? We can’t even beat the likes of Ipswich, Palace or Everton. Today was an utter capitulation. We can blame the injuries all we like but they honestly won’t make any difference whilst Ange is our manager.
I think the most frustrating thing about Ange is that he genuinely doesn't seem to have a clue that he doesn't have a clue.
He’s arrogant and deluded. Look at his comments when he joined about the PL. something about how it’s not as different as other leagues in quality or something. It’s a difficult league and you need attention to detail, he doesn’t have that. He’s a motivator (apparently) and relies on his coaches for the rest.
They’ve got hope. I admire that. My hope is long gone. I think it’s Europa last 8 at best and knocked out of the cup by Villa this weekend and Spurs will finish bottom half of the league. Utterly dreadful season that I just want over.
