Sorry to go against the grain here but I have great deal of sympathy for Richarlison, he was as frustrated as we are by the injury and whilst he is not the greatest player (he is better than Werner lol). I don't think anyone can question that he does always give maximum effort and he certainly was one of better performers in that half where we had no ball at all. The fee we paid was stupid that's not his fault. Anyway lucky its only 1, needs to make a change Bergvall for Bissouma and maybe Moore for Son
I’d say on paper that the set up was the happy medium. But with the midfield not turning up, it’s ****ed us.
Bissouma yet again with his usual cock up. Need to bring on Bergvall for him . We have been so powder puff again and pedestrian in midfield and attack. Like to see Mikey Moore on too. Defensively we have been ok Spence and Davies in particular.
I thought Sarr and Bentancur had done well to be fair, they’ve clearly been instructed to protect the defence and I felt they’d done so. Pool never really had a worrying shot on goal prior to Bissouma’s poor pass.
I get it, but having seen that goal again it was not really struck with much force and he really should have pushed that round post. Poor lads confidence will be blown to pieces if they're not careful...
none of them are keeping the ball though or helping us get out. It’s all a bit “headless chicken” at the moment. Son too. Doesn’t know what do to or where to position himself.
I think Vicario’s back soon, thankfully. He’s gotten some unnecessary stick and whilst his distribution ain’t great, his shot stopping is at a top level, not Lloris’ level (we were never getting a keeper as good as him anyway) but it’s good enough to make a difference.
I don’t think there’s much of an out ball though for them to pass too. Kulu and Sonny are basically playing as wide midfielders more so than wingers, so we’re essentially winning the ball and only one player is actually out in front and that was Richarlison, considering he’s slow as **** we were never gonna be able to play many through balls. With Tel on now I’m hoping we try a few of them for him to run into.
Game over unfortunately. They’ll tear us to shreds now if we start playing more expansive. The game plan from Ange was fine but the players have let us down.
