Had a quick scroll through a Blackburn forum last night to see how they saw the game, amongst lots of slating of their own players they pretty much accepted we deserved the win and lots of praise for Chair, yeah he should have scored but for me he was key to most of our attacking creativity and involved in most of our chances, including an assist.

Chair played very well last night and was very creative.

I think we have got Smyth, Saito and the Korean lad so we can play Chair as a number 10....so we don't need to play any Danes in that position.

Vale and Dembele can also play no10 when fit

This would imply they can read and write.

I thought first half they were more than decent. Second half once they’d got the pen we were the far more positive side even if not forcing loads of saves from Flappy McFlap in goal. Even took some decent corners (not by Paal of course, the **** weak gimp).

It's no surprise that we look more competitive and cohesive as a team when they are not over-compensating and covering for Madsen.

Still think there’ll be games where we need a bit more stodge in midfield but I’ve not seen Chair do much in that free role often so it was nice to see him close to his best bar the finishing.

Poor old Madders though getting pelters when he didn’t play. Spare a thought for Strolls.

Great result for us after losing two. It would be great if we could land Edwards permanently, he looks a proper baller but I guess he'd be out of our league. Colback's return is a big plus as well and Dunne showed no sign of disruption from the transfer saga. Just four points from Blackburn in 5th to us in 13th so it's all to play for.

It's interesting to look at the mindset we seem to have hardwired as before yesterday's game I was thinking we're 11 points clear of the drop zone but a couple more losses and we could be sucked back into the dogfight, this league does our mental health no favours. Onwards and upwards Urrrrrs...

In his post match interview Cifuentes said that the target this season was simply to get more points than last season’s 56.

Pretty low bar when the season started, but ambitious come the end of last November….

Best that Chair has played for a long time, looks like he is getting his mojo back. All he needs now is a goal.

As a Saints fan I can tell you he's in our long term plans. Especially as he's doing so well for you. He may well be in our starting XI next season as we're almost certainly going to be back in the Championship.

I think you’re all forgetting we’re going up and will therefore sign him for our Europey Conference charge.

Given saints performance this season why isn’t he playing now, gaining experience and improving

I guess we don't want to rush his development - he's still very young for a CB and playing for a team shipping goals left, right and centre and losing virtually every week won't help. We're so far adrift it's all about looking to next season now and Edwards will be a big part of that.

Having to train and play with Joe Lumley is going to demoralise any centre-half.

I thought the Korean lad looked a bit out his depth/light weight when he came on last night but seeing how Saito has improved then hopefully will improve in the same way, will take him a bit of time and a few sub appearances though me thinks.
Edwards gave us a different dimension when bring the ball forward and some neat 1-2's on the left as well as a mazey run in to the opposition half at one point.
Great atmosphere again last night under the lights, can only make midweek home games working from Southampton three days/week so maybe the last this season, thanks to whoever put up two tickets in R block on resale!! Onwards .....

I was going to say the same. He was much sharper. Almost back to his best, just needs to polish up those shooting boots.
