Four points dropped there could come just at the right time ... ... end of April on the day we play Blackburn at home.
I think the average play-off points needed is around 73 ironically. I think the minimum, this season, could be quite low, around 68 points ... ... which would mean we'd only need 10 more points from a possible 48. I can't bear the tension
Blackburn losing is great news The earlier play-offs are guaranteed, the better More risks could then be taken
Manuel Benson back on the bench for Burnley tonight, totally forgot about that little bastard to be honest. Tortured us last time they were in the championship. Surprised they bothered signing Edwards knowing he’s coming back from injury unless they plan on playing Edwards centrally.
They’ve got some brilliant players for this level. We just have to hope they start conceding more (I can’t see it myself)
Even Burnley fans are slating the turgid football though. Take a look at the comments on the BBC report. It would be a crime for them to go up. Not that I think they will. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cq5gq4866zvt
They’ll get hammered on Saturday in the FA cup hopefully knocks their confidence a bit. As shyte as Southampton are I fancy them to put a few past them
They’ve got a brilliant chance simply due to their defence Desperate for them to start shipping a few
I’d back Southampton on Saturday as the gulf between leagues is huge but Burnley won’t concede many. 2-0 imo
Liverpool were pipped to the title in 2019 by a point. Only lost one all season but drew 7 games whilst Man City lost 4 and only drew 2 but won 2 more games. Hopefully we put the pressure on and draws aren't enough for Burnley.
Sheff Utd have Leeds and Boro this month and, iirc, Sheff Wed next month ... ... as has been said, lots of drama ahead.
It's not just the centre backs, it's 11 behind the ball at the drop of a hate. That might stop them conceding but, if they have to go for wins, they'll have to attack more ... ... hopefully that will f*ck them up. Although they've brought in Shelvey now to fire 60 yard passes to their wingers.
Ive noticed Leeds and Burnley both have midweek games this week, play again in the FA Cup this weekend and then have another midweek game next week before playing again the following weekend. (Leeds play us on the Monday). Im hoping/expecting the fixture pile up really effects them. Leeds are notoriously known for having a big dip in form from March. Its what fecked promotion up for them last season.
All these things help mate, like Burnley playing Sheff Utd and Utd having a Sheffield derby against a team in form. I keep seeing people praising Burnley for these clean sheets but that can easily become a negative if you're not scoring. They failed to score again, at home, last night ... ... if they have to start to attack more, when it comes to the crunch, their system may start to crumble.
Leeds are playing Coventry tonight who are unbeaten in their last 5 games, and winning the last 4. Its all if and buts, but it really does show how many twists and turns they could be between now and the end of the season. I honestly think Boro will beat Sheff Utd in their next game aswell.
