I think its about PSR rather than how well of you are right? Wages and squad value aren't anything like the level we see in the EPL right?
Combination of both I suppose. I know both Leicester and Wolves are in the **** financially of they go down, pretty sure we will be as protected as you can be when losing a hundred odd million in 12 months, but I really don't know how Ipswich will get on. I'm hoping someone comes in for Mckenna. Without him they will struggle. If they lose the likes of Davis and Delap that is going to sting too.
Yeah that why I'm happy for the same three to go down. Leicester will be in the **** potentially and I can't see McKenna being there for much longer and I think he is their key. The other clubs are just too strong for us in the championship.
Chilcs. His post was in response to me asking if Dragan could become the sole owner of Southampton fc, and rid us of SR and their multi club nonsense. I did not mention our previous ownership in anyway. Cheers
What does "get rid of SR" mean? SR is just the vehicle that oversees the clubs, financed by Dragan. Ankersen looks after Goztepe, who are doing well, someone-or-other looks after Valenciennes (since Dragan moved Kraft away), and Parsons and (hopefully) Spors will look after Southampton. They're the executive team that are in place. It can be called Sports Republic, it can be called Fanny Craddock. It doesn't matter. He can't just sack everyone and look after all the clubs on his own (or even one of them). There has to be an executive structure in place.
Indeed. I also doubt Dragan Solak would be much better at the day-to-day operation of a football team (note "team" not "club") than the others have been. He/they need to permanently step away from that and appoint somebody who knows what they're doing.
Yep I get that. My point is for him to finance only one club, Southampton fc. I dispize this pound land multi club model, where we are trying to emulate the likes of Man City and Chelsea.
TBH I'm not sure why some people are so against the multi-club model. The main benefit for us is that Goztepe and Valenciennes can buy and then develop young talent and if they reach a certain level we will then buy them for a reasonable fee. And we can also loan out players like Matsuki who is gaining valuable experience in Turkey.
As always the super rich benefit most. We are a tinpot multi club. If we ever unearth a single gem then I’ll be surprised. City on the other hand… Chelsea…. PSG. Another level we can’t compete on.
On the topic of Delap, I read that Man City have the first option to buy him, for something like £30 million. If that is correct and City exercise that option Ipswich would miss out on a massive chunk of money as he would probably be £60 million plus in a bidding war with other clubs.
