If he wins anything I think he’d earn the right to see us into next season. He’d need to drastically improve league form in the following season but with the league being a write off this year, bringing us success more than makes up for it. Midtable and a cup > top four. It’d be similar to ten Hag at Utd I’d say, he would’ve been sacked last summer had he not won the FA Cup but Utd stuck by him in the hope league form would also improve, it didn’t and then he got binned.
I don’t think they will define his tenure. Surely it will be dependent on how the rest of the PL season goes?
This is what I find hilarious about a section of our fanbase bemoaning we don't act like a Big Club™ Man Utd and Chelsea absolutely sack managers who win trophies, often within days of winning one...but apparently we're supposed to emulate the dysfunctional dumpster fires that those two clubs are? The only manager who won a trophy we should have sacked at the end of a season was Ramos, because he seemed incapable of getting us into the top half of the table via our league form and it has to be said our results in the UEFA Cup and FA Cup were concerning too
It’s not my opinion he should be kept, I think that depends on league form. I think the club however would keep him if he manages to win a trophy. It could go either way, if he’s kept then Spurs could kick on and get back to the top 6 next season under Ange, or it could be like a Ten Hag situation where Man Utd made a big mistake ignoring all the red flags because of the FA Cup win.
The sad truth is it's been 17 years and 8 managers since we last won a trophy. None of us have a clue how the club would react, it's been that long.
I love this comment coming from a Spud Talking about two clubs that have won several leagues and quite a few cups since Spurs last won anything One of those clubs currently sits slightly above you in the league and the other is well above you. Would'nt you just love to be a "dumpster fire" club
Brentford have never won anything but they are very well run and are massively above where they ought to be by wealth and historical performance. Man Utd are badly run and have been massively below where they ought to be.
I would'nt argue against any of that because it's fair and true. The thing i was getting at is the hilarity that it was a Spurs fan calling us both
Finished 3rd with Spurs too didn’t he? If Ange can finish 3rd and win the FA Cup then as well as being surprising, it would be successful
Well run? yeah mate. You have owners and Levy that built you a beautiful £1b stadium and put the debt on the club along with covenants on the loans that stop/limit you from improving your squad. Yes, our owners have put a long term debt on our club of £586M but at least we can still spend to our psr limits. Edit..........I am a bit cautious about what will happen with our promissed new stadium so probably should'nt have brought that up
Yes, we are limited to spending £150m more than we would be allowed to without the stadium. It's a disaster.
It’s 8 wins out of 24 this season. Last season and the cup games are irrelevant. 14th position but will he 15th if Everton win their game in hand
