He's young and likely still growing into his body. IIRC Steven Gerrard had loads of muscle injuries early in his career as he was still growing.
Giggs had hamstring and back issues a lot in the early days. As long as it's managed correctly (and sounds like it is) then he should be fine

Just think of Huggins when young players have stress fractures of the back. He took months to recover and kept picking up other problems.
Compensating for the injury during recovery often leads to other knock on issues. He's a young lad but needs to get it properly sorted or it could haunt him

It was just a poor joke unfortunately. I'd obviously love to go up this season but I think we'd invest wisely with the money we'll inevitably receive from sales in the summer.

We've actually done well to shift deadwood in the squad and added at least 1 guy to the starting XI which is more than usually happens in January.

I wonder if the new longterm deal on Monday has messed with his head, and he doesn’t really want to be here. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. As others have said we may only need him for cover in the final half dozen games, so nothing to get hung up about.

Danns is highly rated by Liverpool fans judging by comments on Sunderland Twitter, let’s hope the issue with his back is sorted ASAP

Leaving aside the question of whether the lad ends up contributing for us, I think it’s important for us to stay on good terms with both promising young players and elite clubs. Will benefit us in the long term.

If it's a stress fracture. Frankly I would have binned the deal off.

Obviously couldn't say much, but stress fracture is what I heard.

To me, for us to sign him still means we obviously didn't have time to get a replacement, but also something has happened in regards to maybe our commitment to the loan. I doubt we are paying as much as we were and I bet there's a clause protecting us too should we not get our money's worth.

Aside from that, even if he can make a strong impact in the last 10 games of the season, it'll do us a world of good, at the minute Isidor is doing very well and Mayenda has become his deputy even more so lately.

I think it’s just a flare of his previous stress fracture. Seems the gist is a few weeks. Potentially not fully healed before

danns will be out for 3-5 weeks according to the athletic - they used 'several' as their term for it

Sheff Utd now have 6 loans so will have to leave one of them out of the squad every match. Silly squad building.
