You can only sell what someone wants to buy - I suspect we'll see a large number leave in the summer.

Burstow is doing ok, but he needs game time which is why a loan was on the cards. Pity it didn’t happen. He’ll develop as he gains experience. Sad to see people writing him off. He was always one for the future.

You're preaching to the choir. Of the current players, both on loan and ones we've loaned out, the ones I think will still be here by the end of summer 2025 are: Pandur, Coyle, Hughes, Jones, Millar, Pedro, Egan, Alzate, Puerta, Drameh, Crooks, Slater, Joseph, Jacob, Belloumi, Matazo and Kamara.

Players I think will definitely leave are: Giles, Mehlem, Sinik, Fleming, Racioppi and Amrabat.

Players who may leave, either permanently or on loan: McLoughlin, Ömür, Vaughan, Lo-Tutala, Cartwright, Palmer and Burstow.

Don't think we'll sign Lincoln, Burns or Gelhardt permanently, Zambrano is 50/50 and we may get Barry for a full-season loan depending on how he and we do for the rest of the season.

It won't require as big a rebuild as summer 2024 but it still means we'll be shifting deadwood who we only signed the previous summer.

Whilst our transfer windows have been pretty shocking, we seem to have done something right this time around because, unlike previous seasons, you still have a core of a pretty decent squad.

Looks like Miller is back on the grass today. Even if not back this year, good news for start of next season

As could I if TWS go up. He isn't getting games there now and if they get to the PL he'll get pushed further down their pecking order

    According to a few maybe.
Walter was clearly part of the 'fault' imo, but the issues were more than just him. We'd made what look like some decent additions, but the balance still wasn't (near enough) right, including the things we've both mentioned numerous times before, meaning more to do with the type of players we were missing (Crooks being a good example of starting to address things).
Btw, we are in real trouble already!

He did for the last 3 games before Saturday and didn’t do anything Chazz. He needs game time at his age, no shame in getting it elsewhere it’s about time someone else increased value of our player instead of us doing it for them

Just a thought and yes I've been warned about thinking before

Is the majority of this January transfer window actually us doing most of our summer transfer eary so next season it's not such a big overhaul.

Not had much of a chance in his natural position? Scored 2 decent goals still. There's something there that should be developed and built on, and he's not a teenager anymore needing to go to lower leagues to get experience of 'mens football'. Would have thought he should be in and around the match day squad, building his confidence and experience. bit like it should have been with Kamara who conversely had to be thrown in at the deep end.

Yep sign him in the summer permanent
then As Millars back loan gelhardt out

    ****ing brilliant this
In fact send millar out on loan too to get match fit somewhere else
And take gelhardt with him so they can get to know each others style

so another wide man needed now

There is the makings of a semi decent squad for next year all going well. A lot of it is dependant on Belloumi and Millar coming back but it appears Liam is already back in boots which is amazing recovery so fingers crossed.

The club now has somewhat of a spine to build around with Pandur, Hughes, Alzate of players with good potential and quality. If they can keep the large sum of this squad together and add one or two pieces then providing we stay in this division there’s a case to be made about pushing for playoffs again.

    Rushworths coming back next season
    Selles wants a kicking keeper
Hughes is behind Egan in the pecking order now and needs to go out on loan to probably Wigan get some experience
Alzate is more of a 6.5 than a true 6 so we need better there

Back to the drawing board close season I’m afraid
We should probably get rid of Dublin tbh get some one new in
