I didn't want us to spunk cash up the wall. I did want us to make use of the PL loan. I didn't expect the Gronbaek loan. I'm annoyed that we don't seem to be able to get players to sign contract extensions here and yet Wolves get Cunha; who had interest from bigger clubs, to sign a contract extension. SAA going is annoying, football is broken and so pointless for a club like us when we can't even try and build through youth talent.

Wellington was a signing from last summer, so he doesn't really count for me and far too early to judge him and Grobeak as a success or not.

like others have said, its frustrating we didn't use the PL loan spot. It's frustrating we lost yet another top young talent. It's frustrating we've still got the likes of ABK here, and it's frustrating that we still can't get deals we are in for over the line.

I didn't expect us to go around splashing the cash, that would be stupid. And yet I'm still disappointed in this window for the reasons above.

He didn’t play last Saturday, which was such a “nailed on” I just can’t see it. Tbh, none of it makes sense.

The transfer window was still open then. He may have been in talks about a move for all we know.

I hope he plays. If he refuses then the club should stop paying his wages.

Just caught up on here & muttered to my wife, “well that was a very underwhelming transfer window”. She responded with, “when was the last time you had an overwhelming window “!!! Smart girl.

A last resort. The club may have thought we will use him if we really have to but would rather avoid injuries so we can sell him.

Because he's reputed to be unfit, overweight, disinterested, disliked amongst the squad and with generally bad attitude. Plus not thought by the coaching staff (both sets) to be quite as good as we all would like to think. We're quite good at overestimating our players that don't play!

But then when it came to a real emergency & last resort at the weekend, we still didn't play him. Absolutely waste of time him being involved.

Yeah I get that but why on the bench? Surely better to have someone who doesn’t have have those “attributes “!?

Yeah, it's an odd one. I suspect he's not quite as good as we think he is, and he's not quite as bad as his reputation.

Gotta say I think B is still way too generous a score for how slow we were to act in the window and how there seemed to not even be the concept of a plan going into it.

If I'm being picky, I'd give the window a C rather than a B-. But can't argue with the reasoning.

The window had two surprises for me. Firstly I didn’t think/expect/want we would sign anyone, so to sign Gronbaek with an option could be a positive, too early to know if he is any good.

The second one was SAA leaving but as discussed yesterday, it felt like the option was sell or lose for nothing so can’t blame the club for selling. As I said yesterday his time here could’ve been better managed on the surface but without knowing all the details hard to really know.

Main disappointment is not getting rid of a couple more, managed to get loans for Bazunu, Armstrong, BBD and Edwards which is decent I suppose. Still a few more would’ve liked to have seen leave in some capacity, so yeah that’s the disappointment for me.

Not really understanding people complaining we haven’t signed anyone etc. What player is going to want to join a relegated team mid way through the season? The top Champ players we would want aren’t going to want to join as they probably think they can get a PL move in the summer/are playing for a team who may be in the PL next season.

Makes much more sense to look to the summer when we will be one of the favourites for the league and should be far more attractive to players.

Overall pretty happy with the window, avoided wasting money and saved some by loaning out a few players. Obviously disappointing to lose SAA and can see the argument about another loan even if I don’t agree with it. I think a B is about right if you want to go all gradey

After reading so much negativity in this thread I can’t wait for the summer transfer window to open.
I recently said that we should look at Josh Sargent and, as someone said, he does have a few injury issues, but when he is on the pitch he makes a difference and scores goals.
I think he has scored twice in 2 or 3 games since coming back from a groin injury and if Norwich don’t go up, via the play offs I wouldn’t be against us trying to get him in. He would probably suit the Juric style to, if he is still in charge.

If it's true that Downes is being difficult, then not signing another DM (or keeping Charles), is once again going to f*ck us at some point.
