No midweek game, so I assume home fans will have a chance to welcome our new signings on Saturday against Stevenage. Kick off 12:30 I believe...
I had an early night, just catching up. It seems we've got 3 C B's in the first-team squad now. All we need to do now is go until the end of the season without injuries or suspensions. Simples!
The 2 CB's going out will come back to bite us later in the season, especially if we're goingto stick with 3 at the back, so it's an "F" from me too.
I am so sick of this Club treating the fans as fools. We are in a great position in the table. What do we do not strengthen the squad. We also sell one of our players to a rival in the playoffs. As Nick has been saying it was a cost cutting exercise pure and simple. No Season ticket, Charlton TV or Valley Gold next season. The Club are not showing any ambition. They seem to be happy to stay in this division. I am not, I am out.
I’m done this season in terms of the home games, I’m not giving Methven any more of my money. When it stops being about football - and yesterday it became very clear what it was all about - you have to re-consider your loyalties. I’ll hand pick aways, starting next week at Birmingham. It’s noticeable that over on ITTV, the usual handful now saying they are “not bothered” about the players departing ….were the exact same “fans” who barely 12 months ago praised these same players as evidence of their SMT’s competence & ambition.
I don't think they pay any attention to the team's current position. (something I currently share with them, though for different reasons). Charlton could have been 4th or 17th in the table and this transfer window would still have played out exactly as it did. Nathan Jones (bless him) is flogging a dead horse.
21 players, six of them reasonably good? If we take a play-off place come May NJ will deserve a medal.
