If it makes anyone feel better the footer on sky sports just mentioned we are still expected to sign Danns
To me, it only made sense to sell Watson if we could use the money for either an immediate impact or a long term target. I’d genuinely consider running the contract down to zero. We’ll get a decent fee at tribunal - and get his talents for the next 18 months in the mean time.
No reason to think otherwise, he’s still a kid with brothers in the academy and appears to have had a great attitude.
Likely England age group caps. Maybe 60 plus first team appearances plus a good handful of goals. All at the age of 19. I’d bet we’d get double that plus a healthy sell-on.
I've paid very little attention to this window tbh … … the club have taken all the fun out of it with forward planning and sensible signings
I think the record for a fee under tribunal is £6.5m and that was between two premier league clubs. Even if we could get £10m, I don’t think it would be sensible to turn down bids of £15m in the summer hoping we get £10m or so. £5m is a lot to sacrifice for one season of football.
Agreed. If they still can not sort the contract, then I reckon he will go in the summer. Obviously if we go up, then it could all change again!
