Swansea City defender Harry Jones has been recalled from his loan spell with Weymouth and had his contract terminated by mutual consent. Jones, who can play as a full-back or centre-half, was having a second spell on loan with the National League South side and had made three appearances so far this term. The Wales youth international joined the Swans in the summer of 2020 after leaving Arsenal, and signed his first professional deal with the club later that year. Midfielder O’Brien will bring considerable experience to head coach Luke Williams’ squad, including nearly 150 Championship appearances. The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Huddersfield Town, where he made 123 appearances and scored eight goals; helping them reach the Championship play-off final in 2023. He then joined Nottingham Forest and made 13 Premier League appearances before making loan moves to DC United, Middlesbrough and Los Angeles FC; racking up another 23 Championship outings for Boro. "We are excited to welcome Lewis to Swansea City," said Swans boss Williams. Swansea City have been rocked by a double deadline day blow, having seen moves for Manchester City midfielder Jacob Wright and Red Bull Salzburg's Bobby Clark fall through. Wright had looked set to join the Swans in what would have been a loan move with an obligation to buy at the end of the season, and was in Fairwood on Sunday night to hold further discussions with the club.
