...we can learn from Fulham this evening. They've done well holding on and taking the pressure...and then taking advantage of Liverpool being down to 10 men. Given Spearing will be suspended, Lucas and Gerrard out...Liverpool now don't look as strong as they could. That being said, they still have a lot of quality...and Saturday will be tough. Still encouraged having watched tonight...thoughts?
I agree...but how many Fulham fans do you reckon were walking to the game today expecting 3 points? There is always hope!
Me too, I'd prefer our unlikely win to come against ManYoo though! I'll be going ballistic, if that comes off
Don't be so defeatist. They've done nothing domestically in 20 years. They are decent but nothing special. I think we'll get a result. Stop the negativity.
Me too...not least of all because I'm catching the train from Paris the day before...leaving my wife here for the week so I can make it over for the United game. My first chance to see QPR in the Premier league since West Ham in 1996...so excited...
We're massive underdogs but a central midfield of Adam and Henderson doesn't scare me too much. The defence is strong and will be tough to breach but if we're positive then we've got half a chance.
Every person you meet over here is either a Liverpool or United fan. We all know what the Man U plastics are like but I've always found Liverpool heads more annoying because of their insistence that they're still a Super Club despite not winning the league in two decades! Every August comes: "Liverpool will win the league this year" (Phil Thompson among them). Every May ends and surprise surprise Liverpool are still sh*t.
With swords on this, they ain't a top four side anymore despite all those millions spent on henderson and carroll. Doesn't mean we'll get a result but Swansea and Norwich have both come back with points, so let's be positive.
I see Liverpool as an equivalent of Aston Villa on a good day kinda side. I certainly don't think Neil and the boys have anything to fear, it will be interesting to see if he can lift the team to put in a potentially match winning performance. They have a track record of slipping up against promoted sides. When you look at them man for man, I don't think they're that scary, with the exception of Suarez maybe. But it's not out of the realms of possibility for a tactically astute manager to know how to nullify him.
to be honest, with Liverpool appearing to be short in midfield, then maybe we should look to play 4-5-1, with the midfield consisting of SWP Mackie, Barton, Faulin and Taarabt, with HH up frnt, and give the licence to get forward to AT, SWP and JM. Maybe even swap AT for Buzz unless the extra midfield player is someone that marks Suarez for the 90 mins. Feeling a bit more positive after Fulham's win, was hoping for just 1 point but maybe....just maybe we can get 3
saw enough last night to convince me we will have a chance of getting a result at anfield, keep suarez a bit quiet & should be ok.
Dave! Good trip! Reckon you could have a really good day, United look weaker to me than they have for ages, scramling 1-0 wins, and injuries are building up for them. I thought Fulham were at least equal to Liverpool last night so seeing how well we did against Fulham , Anfield should be a doddle.....
Maybe not if his gesture to the Fulham fans results in a match ban. Would be very interesting if that happened!
