It reminds me of us with Souness and the Bellamy situation; Bellamy was a huge player for us and the perfect partner for Shearer, Souness fell out with him and made a statement that he's in charge by immediately getting rid of him. Bellamy went on to big things cos he was obviously a good player. Likewise with Amorim and Rashford, Amorim's arrived and within a few months they're without one of their best players. Although if Amorim gets the boot they may get Rashford back.
Amorim is the type that thinks he can talk and smile his way through, but he clearly hasn't got a clue what he is doing. Ten hag was doing much better
Not sure what he was trying to do today, but they were all over the place. Mainoo as main striker, wtf? Mainoo has 1 goal in 24 games this season. If you think Hojlund and Zirkzee are **** (which they kinda are) and you wanna change things up, pick an actual striker, someone like Rashford maybe...
They are capable of coming up here and putting 4 past us. Schar or Burn should not start. Botman needs to come in.
I think where we could improve is having an attacking plan b. We've seen a number of times that we can retreat into a 5-4-1, even a 5-5-0, but when we need to be more unpredictable and chase a goal we genuinely look all over the place. I've seen Howe sort of throw a player or two on into a completely unbalanced 4-4-2, but I think there needs to be a better plan - watching B'mth dismantle us, we clearly have the personnel to switch to a 4-2-4, which means taking off one of the CM's for a striker - something Howe is scared to do. For me, it's something that could be worked on far more than it appears to be. All Howe ever does is swap like for like, which given the crap on the bench just makes us weaker. He's too risk-averse.
Not to say we're doing as bad as some comments suggest. We have won as many domestic matches as Arsenal this season (18), joint second behind L'pool (21).
If only man City hadn't got their goal and we'd have gone 4th via a defeat at home. Now that's boxing clever.
Van Dyke should be off Ref bottled it Var bottled it Clear use of the elbow in the throat area of the player
Second foul on Richarleson by Van Dyke in the first 6 mins It will be a toss up who gets who sent off first
Wont be VVD. The referee isn’t going to do that at Anfield. I guarantee Liverpool will get a penalty or a dodgy goal. It’s just how it happens.
