Clarke feels unlikely, it's not exactly common for a player to step up to the next level and then to admit defeat and go back to their original team at literally the first opportunity. A few years between transfers would be the minimum for it to be acceptable for all parties.
I just don't see the finances working. His value has dipped significantly, they aren't likely to want to take a loss on a young player with potential just yet, and we are not known for overpaying. I just cannot see it being straight forward.
well deadline day has arrived will be lots of rumours lets see what it brings most important thing of the day thought is 3 points at boro
Should be a busy day today between the window closing and the game (luckily it’s a bank holiday over here wouldn’t get any work done) Hopefully there’ll be a couple links or maybe a signing by the time I wake up But forget all that the real question is will we somehow make it to 1000 pages
I get up reasonably early, 6 or 7am. Of course with the time difference I’m dreading how many pages I’ll have to catch up with
I’m eight hours ahead here in WA. Went to bed last night and I think we were on page 615(ish). This morning at 8am page 648. Still with no news!!
It’ll be worse tomorrow. Hopefully by 8am in your time zone there may be some news…..or at least a strong rumour
I know this is a football thread but surely we’re all adults here and have worked out by now that 99 percent of politicians, no matter what part of the political spectrum are all cut from the same self-serving cloth.
Every day is a big day, We just have to decide how big we want it to be. Hoping for a quiet day with one important signing that no major departures but more importantly 3 points tonight
Large proportions of fans of all clubs are ridiculously entitled to be honest. They want instant success. They expect an owner to come in and throw millions at it - you here arguments like "if they're not willing to lose money, they shouldn't have got into football" etc. If they don't spend more in every transfer window than they makes they'll be accused of stealing from the club. If they spend more and make a loss, they'll be expected to write it off. If they come in, spend millions, achieve great success, it's still not "their club", it's "our club" and they're fortunate to be a custodian. As soon as that success isn't sustained they'll be expected to walk away and take whatever deal is best for the club. That type of fan will never be satisfied because they're always looking outside at what everyone else has... And there will always be someone more successful. Far better to live in the present and appreciate what we have right now.
That's ****ing awful that like, whoever has posted a private chat with someone presumably in the lads family. Imagine being that much of a snake just because you want a few people on the internet to like you.
please dont, we have this every year. “couldn’t do much worse that signing [insert previous Sunderland player coming to the end of his career] as a player/coach”
If the options are between that NDiaye and Danns then I’m taking NDiaye unless danns has a clause to buy him in with the loan. no doubt that Danns has something about him but i think we are moving away from developing other players for elite clubs unless we have that clause to take then off their hands, also can’t see Liverpool letting him come here as he mos fluidly won’t get the game time that they’d want.
