Hopefully. But let’s see where we are in 30 hours. Feels too early to assess the situation either way.
It doesn't. If just means we value him higher. There are other clubs in for him. I would love to keep him and have the window closed and for him to sign a new deal. I think more bids will come in and he will leave.
I think the club are playing a blinder in all this. We'll find out soon enough whether these bids are as a result of the player asking to move or if bidding clubs are trying their luck, but if it's the former, I honestly can't understand why a local lad would want to turn his back on his local club and not want to play his part in getting promoted for the sake of 3-4 months. He could go in the summer.
the Mundle rumour sounds like nonsense to me. The lad was willing to move from London to BELGIUM to play football. If he got homesick he’d have gone back to London, not the north east. I don’t know who said the rumour but it sounds like nonsense
The Watson to Brighton runour has become fact that he won't sign a contract and wants to leave. The fact we are knocking back £12 million pound bids suggests to me the club are relaxed and it's in hand
That's a serious bid to turn down. I still think he'll leave but that shows how much it will take to get him.
nothing has become fact either way. Us turning down a bid could simply be because we want more. We’ll have to wait and see if he’s still here on Tuesday or not. I really want him to be but still think he’ll go for a higher fee.
Just means we’re doing it the right way. Play this right and the club could get up to 20m imo with a decent sell-on.
Probably the same bed wetters who thought half the team were getting sold last season on deadline day
If he goes for higher than 12 million then he goes on our terms. The "facts" quoted today on here and on social media that he wants to leave, won't sign a contract don't help and make it sound like we are going to accept any decent bid
Hoping we keep clinging on. He’s gonna be a great player. However I’d remain tempted if it gets to ‘Jack Clarke return’ money.
yeh I agree nobody should be thinking there are facts. But it’s plausible he doesn’t want to sign a new deal and therefore the club are happy to sell him, whilst also making sure we are maximising the fee we get. Potentially other clubs to swoop. hopefully this is all nonsense as you say and he’s about to sign a new deal
Brighton have been after him for about 18 months... pre-contract, summer and now. Surely they'll want to come out on top if there is a bidding war. They don't want to be chasing someone for that long to be beaten by Villa last minute.
Its my view we are already there, the reluctance of Ipswich to play him means they dont rate him in the prem, so we should pay less of a fee
