Danns would be a good move for us I reckon. Isidor is the main man so we won’t be wanting someone to bench him. So this lad who has a lot of talent, wants to make a name for himself and already around a top clubs setup and scored goals in the fa cup for them. Would make total sense to me. the experience and quality and big name signing type thing I’d leave for the wings currently
I'd like a striker with more first team experience and goals behind him but that's very difficult to do, as we've seen. Danns would be less risky than getting a striker from abroad - used to the the English game and would settle a lot easier.
We need cover, why would we sell two players who play the same role with the window slowly closing? Mundle still isn’t at full fitness, so it makes sense to get him back tm full fitness and then let him go in the summer To me that’s logical
How do you insult a 17 year old with not one but multiple offers of a professional contract to play football?
Mind, the Dodds thing. if your having your coaches getting management jobs, big clubs known for development wanting our youth products, big clubs trusting us with their best youth talents on loan (Liverpool potentially, Man Utd with Amad), a well established pathway to the first team for our own youth products and being able to persuade players such as Enzo Le Fee this place is the best for his development despite having offers higher up then you’ve really got to give out owners and KS credit mind. a lot of work has gone on off the field to get to this stage since the SD/CM days of sending the likes of Bali Mumba to South Shields and flogging Sam Greenwood just to fix a lift in the academy.
The point is that if Mundle has already made it clear that he wants to leave in the summer, you give Watson guarantees over first team football, get him on a long term contract and reject the transfer bids. Thus making him our long term, first choice left winger. The only reason not to give him those guarantees is because we have Mundle beyond the summer.
