No idea if he's any good, but I'm pleased that we're continuing to explore the loan market. Much better than wasting money in the permanent market. It won't change the outcome of our season, but it might make these final four months a bit more watchable. Now if we could also add a DM or striker on loan too, that would be nice.
Frustrating to strengthen a position that we currently have Stephens, ABK, THB, Bree and Bednarek playing regularly while the midfield is currently rather crap and we are relying on a 19 year old and a physio drain up front. Edit. Didn't see the Ipswich game so hadn't realised two CBs picked up injuries. I'd also forgotten to include Wood in the CB position. We will have 7 CBs in the squad.
Seems a strange one without an agreed fee at the end of it. Why would you loan a young inexperienced player into a better league
I believe that they're part of the same multi-club group as Chelsea. So I wonder if it's the owners wanting to test him out in the PL, to see if he might be ready to join Chelsea in the near(ish) future? Purely a guess on my part. I have no idea how good he is.
Strasbourg bought him for 20m euros in 2023. That's a huge fee for Ligue 1, on a twenty year old, so he must have something about him, even if he's fallen out of favour. Seems his strengths are one-v-one tackling, and ball carrying, often operating in the fake-DM role that Juric likes.
Quick and powerful too. Big bugger at 6'5 I think. Kind of like ABK would be if he wasn't such a bellend.
