Now that he's playing for a PIF majority owned club surely theres nothing to stop him joining on loan from next season...let him have fun with Ronaldo and Mane for the rest of the season and then hand him the black and white shirt....I'm getting the impression PIF are trying not to upset the apple cart...keeping Maxi's fee fairly low maybe....not bringing in any loan players so far whatsoever from Saudi Clubs...but Duran especially as a sub for Isak is different gravy. Maybe even worth dealing with salty tears from people who ignore Watford/Udinese type partnerships.
PIF are trying to play fair but at some point they will drop the hammer and pump a player or two into the club I hope.
No chance. Duran would have to accept another bench role, we'd not be able to cover wages and if we didn't, I suspect PL would block it. Also the Saudo clubs have their own league interests to look out for and want young high quality talent
The saving on the transfer fee would help with wages and clubs sometimes only partially cover wages for loan players anyway. Eddie could potentially incorporate him into a 3 man attack maybe as well.
The lads also a complete and utter ****ing tit with a **** attitude. More chance of Mackems building a brand new 200,000 seater stadium than him signing for us
