How would people feel about us selling Jobe but keeping him on loan until the end of the season and using the money on a couple of players this window?
Might have missed it, but what was the fee we said we’d take? £25m? Doesn’t seem like enough to be honest.
They sell gone in the January window and it would be a disaster to our game plan and would kill morale amongst the fan base. his price ain’t gonna go down ….must keep him this window
I think it's a good idea, BUT, my arrogance has me thinking no, because why develop their lad for nothing. If we got say 25 upfront, we could go sign a replacement of a similar age for a quarter of that.
Absolutely, just find RLBs response when coming in appeared to polarise their positions. Ba and Pembele clearly getting nowhere near first team and Achouche put to graft to prove himself which he more than has. As I said it’s conjecture on my part, just that not every youngster coming in will thrive and I’ve unfortunately experienced small dissatisfied groups that can hit a negative spiral amongst themselves. I’m projecting my own biases here and no way am I claiming to know inner workings of club. I hope I’m totally wrong but I’m also really impressed with how Achouche has worked to get his game time.
I agree. Hope we do. I just know for definitely that it's now at the point where a serious decision has to be made. The January window man. Relentless.
It could be that Mundle's path is blocked by Watson. Or that they both play. Or that we need them both, (as we do) and we manage it. If we are aiming high we will need to do this type of thing. I like them both. But selling Watson now looks too early unless he has been turned. He really could be a very, very good player. This lot seem to get more right than wrong though, so they can wrestle with it all, and I'll just watch and shout.
Absolute no from me. Every club of our size will need to make significant sales to ultimately progress, I think him and rigg are the potential key ones that could be those players for us. No need to sell jobe yet, long term deal signed in the summer just gone and value would increase further upon promotion, hold out I say.
Question to the scout types among us, as ive long wondered. Obviously, if Jobe left, we wouldn't just be losing a good player, but a bit of extra physicality in the midfield. We could technically sell him, not replace him and still go up. But, like for like, who would you recommend as a signing to replace him? Someone physical, box to box, good attitude and mentality? Might be the hardest to replace.
Desperate in the middle. A big head coach and the rise of Man U back to form, 65k home gate, huge world wide following, and the top of the table aims will sell many players
I always think how much is their heart still in it, and being a team player isn't as much a focus for them, than showcasing their talents.
Man U recruitment has been hideous in recent times. Typical that Jobe is the exact type of player they need to start targeting…
