It’s not bad no, but it paints the picture of local coaching standards. Any parents with ambition for their kids round here would be trying to get them in at Leeds and the blunts
When I was involved, the Hull Sunday League was known as one of the better ones, certainly better than the likes of Selby. So much so, parents with "aspirations" for their kids would travel miles on a regular basis just to get their kid into one of the clubs that scouts would frequent more often. The problem was then, as I'm sure is now, that the likes of Leeds, and even the Manchester clubs, would be scouting the same teams/games and had more of a pull than City's academy did.
We were interested in Salah when we were promoted in 2008 but the Egyptian club he was at wanted 10m for him, we told em were to shove it and Chelsea stepped in
It was 2012 when we were interested in Salah and the fee was £2.5m, but he opted to go to Basle instead, before going to Chelsea for £11m two years later.
Maybe, maybe not. We have to be selfish in this respect as like I say, we are probably going to get more injuries. I do think he is better than the game time he has been given so far this season, for what it’s worth.
Youngster I think Rover... Derby, Norwich, Millwall, Fulham and Everton wanted him.. good move perhaps for the pair knowing each other, settling in etc...
watching a bit of the blackburn game which made me look at their jan transfers in its honestly insane how much of a pull we have, that we can sign the players we have near the relegation zone blackburns incomings are utter meh owners dont want to pump any money in
