Sorry to be that guy but I can't see any signings happening today. They almost always leak the day before.
Burnley FC and AFC Sunderland have made an enquiry to Sporting CP for Marcus Edwards, reports @Record_Portugal . Someone on here has spoke it into existence
The desperation was to do with some supporters tbh … … I understand it but don’t agree with it. I've seen it too many times before.
Tying Neil and cirkin down to new deals and an additional forward option would do me at this point I think
I think you're looking into it way too deep personally. I fully get your view and understand it but at the same time, the goal is PL football, signing a few players now to push us over the line isn't going to give us a 'big price to pay' it's simply the normal thing to do in this scenario. You strengthen to go up and push yourself over the line. It's the blowing money we want to avoid.
I think I'm in the part where I just wait and see the scarf pic before I get excited about a signing. We've done ok up to now and yes other signings MAY help us get into the top 2 but it's not nailed on. The club has come so far since KLD has taken over and I don't think they'll purposely **** things up when we're this close so I'll just let them get on with it.
I think if we do sign anyone it will be a long term addition, the thing I love about us is we won't go out and pay a load of money for a player just to get promoted. I think we might get another Le Fee type signing who we can only afford to buy if we get promoted which is forward thinking, and/or a versatile young forward. I think had we had that versatile forward already we would have more points on the table, someone that can push Roberts, could have covered for Mundle/ Watson and also given the option of 2 up front more often
I agree that we are a bit light in some areas and need to strengthen. For me, it's all about the quality we bring in. PL potential rather than high quality championship. RLB wants players who can contribute now though, so there is the conundrum.
Marcus Edwards would be some statement, can't see it though. Surely he could get a premier league move. He was linked with a return to Spurs not long ago, even if the big boys aren't interested anymore, you'd still think clubs like Wolves, Palace, Everton etc. would be happy to have him.
Just a fun little fact, Marcus Edwards just changed agents last week to the same as Dennis Cirkin and Dan Neil... quite topical with all the discussions recently
