You’re probably right but getting someone like Tomori could make a huge difference imo. Gray and Davies have played there but they’re not CB so that leaves Micky and Romero who both struggle with injuries. Not signing another one now is asking for trouble.
Has Tel rejected us yet? @PowerSpurs there’s rumours that any potential deal is us essentially wiping off some/all of what Bayern still owe us for Kane. What does this mean for transfer budgets etc?
I'm in the 'If we can get stupid money for Romero then let's do it' camp, so lining up another established CB is near the top of my list. I have high hopes for Phillips, Vuskovic and Dorrington, but there's an immediate need for another more experienced defender. Ben should be moving into a coaching role and I don't want to see Archie or Djed wasted there next season.
We're well past that luxury. It's even worse for coaches. Who the ****ing hell we get to replace Ange, **** alone knows. I'd like to think that Kieran McKenna would take the job...but the 18 month shelf life and the ever increasing likelihood of frustration and failure may lack any appeal. I'd like us to keep with building a team of the best young talents and get in someone who can coach them. Ange ain't no coach.
You're too generous. I'm going with 22:57 on deadline day, followed by an announcement at 22:58 that we've signed Emile Heskey.
I think the sooner we accept that he is not coming and move on the better, he will a United player by tonight and we will probably sign Rashford instead and find out that he is just an English Werner!
I'm actually a bit worried about Rashford. Just the kind of signing Levy looks at and thinks 'marquee'.
Just me that wouldn’t mind Rashford, if Ange can do a Harry Redknapp and get him fully focused then he’s a good player and proven in the PL
Ange hasn't really shown any evidence that he can get the best out of underperforming players. Not a single one of our supposedly experienced players have improved under his coaching. In fact quite a few have visibly regressed.
