I would absolutely have Archer but my worry is he’d want to be the starting striker surely that’s where he’s performed.. where does that leave Isidor?

It’s a fair argument like, don’t think he’s had a proper crack at it given the teams he’s been at, every chance we could be the same if we get there too mind given the gap between the leagues, I’d read it as option to buy not obligation, much more appealing if it’s an option but yeah agree we just have to trust the club if he’s one they thinks worth it

Went for 15 mil in the summer, has only scored 2 since then so no reason he'd be more expensive, give them their money back if we go up and its a deal I reckon

They will probably want the Ross Stewart money added to it :)

I think they will be looking to get as close to the 15m they paid you'd assume - Thats if they have actually paid the 15m upfront

I see your point, but if we got someone like Archer in the team, I think we'd rather quickly overtake Leeds.

But that's not how Southampton or Archer will view it, is it? If they want to sell to the team most likely to be promoted, it will be to Leeds. They're 5 points clear of us.

Think the deal they paid was potentially up to 18, and that was just this summer, just can't see them choosing to make a loss after 6month when they don't need to.

What if Archer thinks we look more likely to succeed long term?

Yeah I get that, depends who they view as manager for next season, for them he would be worth keeping in the championship if (when) they get relegated but if they are planning to keep this manager and he doesnt rate him do they cut their losses? Gutted when he goes to Leeds, think he could cover a wide forward too

They’ve comfortably scored more and conceded less than we have. I think it would take more than a new forward coming in to overtake Leeds.

    Would love Archer, if true.

Also, Portuguese media are reporting Rollheiser could be leaving Benfica. Wonder if we’d go back in for him as the “versatile forward”.

I don’t think he’s special enough to be guaranteed a starting spot. He’s been decent but not that good
