We are back in the league against Bournemouth on Saturday. Arne Slot is taking the game seriously by resting key players against PSV, High flying Bournemouth wants European football next season, they have already proved this by beating Newcastle away and Nottingham Forest at home convincingly. League table does not lie they are7th in the table 40 points the same as Chelsea.

At the best we maintain to city and open the gap to arsenal.

But mostly just need to perform ourselves. This requires putting in the level we would against a top side.

I'm a bit wary when we rest players because we as fans usually relax, thinking that they'll be fresh for the next game, and sometimes it works out that they put in a rusty performance.

Bournemouth play with an aggressive press, which we can exploit if we're on it - Nunez seems to like playing Bournemouth, hopefully he can play some part - but it could just as easily go the same way as Newcastle and Forest if we're not careful.

Happens frequently, but we still see fans clamouring for players to be rested. I accept that fatigue comes in as the season progresses, but resting a large number of players doesn't seem the solution.
I'm not sure what the answer is, apart from taking some players off early so they only play an hour or so wherever possible.

I generally do not believe that playing 1 game per week is a "rest" you should be rusty from.

They should have all trained normally all week..if they have not cos the coaches went to Holland for a game then that's on the coaches.

Liverpool had the luxury of resting players for their final Champions League group game, Wednesday's defeat at PSV Eindhoven, and still finish top of the table.

There are some who will question whether that is in the spirit of the competition, but if you were Reds boss Arne Slot then what would you do?

They are trying to win everything at the moment and they had earned the right to make those changes.

His players will be well rested for this game but I just have a feeling about Bournemouth at the moment.

The Cherries are depleted by injuries, and you cannot discount Mohamed Salah winning it for Liverpool the way he has done so many times before.

But Andoni Iraola's side have already beaten Arsenal and Manchester City here this season, as well as Forest and Newcastle, and they have taken as many points as Liverpool - 22 - in their past 10 matches.

This should be great fun. Bournemouth are running hot.
In their last four games, Andoni Iraola's men are working at a 19.7 per cent conversion rate with their finishing, which is a bonkers number and a huge increase on their 9.2 per cent conversion rate over the course of this season. In the last four games they've scored a goal every 5.8 shots and again that is a huge upsurge on their season average where they've scored every 10.8 shots per goal.

I think they might slip back to their wayward finishing ways here against one of the best defences in the Premier League.

Some may deem the Cherries as dangerous outsiders but Liverpool, fresh and ready to go after being given a rest in midweek, are such a relentless winning machine. Away win.

SCORE PREDICTION: 1-3

My first thought was to go for a 2-2 draw but then I was reminded of the pledge I made last week to be braver and back Bournemouth more.

That helped me to be right about them beating Forest, so I don't really have much choice but to carry on being brave, do I?

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Anton's prediction: It's still probably most likely that Liverpool will win, but Bournemouth will cause them some problems. Justin Kluivert is playing really well for the Cherries. 2-3

Anton on who will win the title? Liverpool are going to do it. If anyone is going to challenge them, it will be Arsenal but it is going to take a few unexpected results from Liverpool to let them back in.

So what's the story with injuries.

Gomez, Jota and nunez all back in training again so are we looking at nobody being out for about 15mins here or has slot said anything a out chiesa missing the rest of the season via fatigue yet
 
As long as we win....that's all that matters,.not that it will be easy. Need to reopen a gap over the others because we're going to have an equally tough end of season as we did tough end of first half where we dropped a bunch (but were saved by our rivals also dropping points). I don't want to rely on our rivals all dropping points in April.

6 points can be eroded in two games. We lost more than in the tail end of the first half.

Naturally, I don't expect our rivals to not drop points between now and then... But given we play a lot of our hardest games last, we probably need a 10 point gap by late March to be mostly-safe.

Their injury problems didn't affect them any against Newcastle and Forest. They've scored as many points as us in the last 10 games. Iraiola is good at getting his team to adapt to cover those injuries.

Thinking back to last year's game, although we won 4-0 with a great 2nd half performance, we really had to put in a shift against their aggressive press for much of the first 60 mins before we could reap the rewards of picking them off. Similar fortitude will be needed tomorrow.
