Transfer Rumours Winter 2025 Transfer Thread

I’m not saying your comment was OTT, I’m saying how people in general, especially Twitter, are going way OTT!
So far he’s up there with Seri, Tufan, Tetteh & Oscar when we signed them a few years back.
Everyone saying that we had the team to beat & then we were just ****, along with those players at the time.

 

I think Barry will do ok but i worry more now for the likes of Burstow there is definately a player in there so maybe a loan to a club higher up in League 1 may help him progress like it has with Barry, i would be inclined to now offer Burstow to Stockport since they lost Barry and make the offer really tempting to them to see if they can really bring him forward to.

 

Just playing catch up as I've been busy recently. So what I can quickly gleam the updates for this transfer window are...

- Statements are allowed to be described as 'showing insecurity' providing they were said by Acun

- If you disagree with the above judgement, you ipso facto want Acun's schlong in and around your mouth by default and want it good and hard on his private jet

- We're not allowed to describe statements as 'a bit over the top' if they're said by forum members because that's obviously going too far

- Giles is a bastard

- If you say something 'stupid' expect to be challenged on it, but at the same time don't argue about stuff

- We somehow need to bring another goalkeeper in

- Despite the squad looking a lot better and adding various good looking additions to the squad, and despite it being much needed as well, we've simultaneously signed too many players this window

- We've got an owner who's an idiot, but which 90% of the country would want running their club

- If they come from a Turkish club they're going to be ****

 

Don't forget we signed Louie Barry .

Why is it strange basically that is what it is in a nutshell.

 

I just took it as pointing out we manage to have the polar opposite views on absolutely everything on this forum, despite all wanting the same thing.

I think Louis Barrie being the cherry on the cake.

Scored 9 goals in 22 league games from midfield in League 2. Yeah but can he do it in League 1?

Scored 16 goals in 24 games in League 1. Yeah but can he do it in the Championship?

Villa give him a new contract. Half the Championship after scouting Barry would like him at their club…yeah but…

He 100% might not cut it in the Championship, but based on his career so far, you’d like to think it’s an exciting yet calculated signing. Surely we can all agree on that…

To be honest, I don’t think anyone has disagreed so far

But someone put it out there yesterday, ‘anyone want to be negative about this’ and someone else took it on in a light-hearted post about loaning him immediately out to League 1 as he’s no Championship experience.

It will be a first if we have no dissenting voices.

 

Just trying to have a laugh about it. Obviously this isn't the place to do that.

As for attention, that's a bit rich. I've posted probably two or three times in as many weeks recently.

 

Took a few minutes Lighten up. Not too much though - sometimes we're almost jolly enough on here to risk a funeral breaking out.

 

Don't forget that people being different is bad, but also, good.

Looks like Acun is picking the team now, get Stoke tickets to see Barry make his debut. Great.

 

It's obviously been a decent window so far but the club have failed to address the glaring issue of the low amount of goalkeepers we have, especially if one's going out.

Seems like we'll have to wait for the summer now but Acun needs to get it right. You can never have too many keepers.
