it’s about 4 foot long, quite green still, I’m Hoping that if I leave it against a radiator it should start to dry and warp soon. I have a time lapse camera and hope to be able to share some exciting images soon.
Man of the match should have been shared. Dan james for having a shot on goal and their keeper for saving it.
Looked to me like both sides were happy with the draw at the very least so weren’t prepared to take the risk of going for the win. We showed a little (with a capital L) than they did, particularly as the home team. This game proved that whether we are or not, Ristac is correct in saying that every other manager believes we are the best team in this league.
Indeed Parker said they got a point from arguably the best team in the league. This is why I give Farke a hard time, he has an abundance of talent at this level that envies the other coaches so sitting top is expected. It’s the margin we’re top by or should be by that is the debating factor
Mist disappointing aspect to last night was it looked a great chance to assess where both clubs were in terms of quality but we learned nothing except they looked every bit bottom thre pl standard. Clueless going forward in fairness. Both of them
to be fair best team is not necessarily best players (others have said both) - so you can make the case that it’s Farke that has made them ‘ a team’. Don’t get me wrong, I do take your point but it’s not JUST about the calibre of players.
Next six games will be a big indicator. Three games we should and probably need to win to start. Then the rest of the promotion contenders.l Interesting month ahead
yeh, others are coming out of their tough runs and we’ve got a tough feb. It switches back again march time. That said… ‘tough’ and ‘easy’ on paper doesn’t always work out that way - as this weekend has shown
Might is the key thing here. He played in the PL with one of the worst Sheff U teams and there were 3 occasions where he was pressed/held on to it for too long and either lost the ball or was close to losing it. In the PL you get punished for that. I’m only really convinced on James and Tanaka. Tanaka oozes class and James the only player that has anything to show for when we play the better teams and gets stuck in/you can notice that he’s playing. The fact Bogle/Ampadu/Rodon all dropped a league is telling for me (I think Bogle would be fine if he was defensively better but think he’d get torn apart by PL wingers), Struijk is probs too slow and falls asleep too often (not seen as much in this league) and the jury is still out on Ramazini for me. All defo have the most potential but the difference in levels is massive. I think Ipswich bought very well and have a good side/manager yet still sit in the bottom 3.
I totally agree, and it’s why we did the double over both Ipswich and Leicester yet they still went up, they played better as a team. Bielsa came in, he put a group of 11 out on the pitch that took some beating yet individually they might be suspect. If Farke was a “very good” coach at this level, he would be able to do the same
Farke has more points at this stage than MB did when we won the championship. But for some goalkeeping howlers we could be 8-10 points clear. What more can DF do?
Bielsa had a team of average and turned them into something special in the matter of one preseason in a competitive division Farke has the best team in the division, almost any coach could get this team top of the table, there would be a few coaches breaking records, a far less competitive division too. It’s like praising the likes of Pep at City
I think you need to move on from Bielsa, he’s a one-off, but nevertheless, failed in the playoffs in his first season as well. Either way, you’ve still ignored the point that without the goalkeeping errors we could be well clear and your argument about DF would be redundant. What I will agree with is that he probably isn’t good enough for the premier league if we make it but for where we are now who could we get that’s any better?
You say move on from Bielsa then mention his past again in an unfair comparison. Firstly we had Kiko in goal, his mix up with Cooper and then Berardi getting a red card were our downfall You’re just not comparing an equal set of players when you compare Bielsa failing in the playoffs. He failed with average, Farke failed with the best individual players the division had. Who could we get better than Farke, take your pick from at least half a dozen coaches in this division Liam Manning doing a great job at Bristol City with the squad they have compared to us. Carrick at Boro again doing a better job when you look at the squads, Selles the Hull City coach turning a faltering team around to beat Sheffield United away 3-0 with two players who never got a look in here. Farke is not doing anything special, we’re top because we’re head and shoulders better than most and comfortably the best 15-16 players in the division As for Meslier mistakes, Farke picks him, as for crumbling last season Farke didn’t rotate, Farke played Piroe as a 10 too often, Farke left us short of RBs
I mentioned his past because you always reference him. Have to admit I know nothing of the coaches you mention with the exception of Carrick, but with all due respect, managing the likes of Bristol City and Hull is nothing like the expectations expected from a Leeds manager. And again you ignore that but for the goal keeper we could be 8-10 points clear.
But for a better coach who’d realise Meslier is the weak link we’d be 9-12 points clear, but for a better coach we’d have went up last season
