I don't think Clarke is happening. I don't really see what Ipswich get out of the deal. Now if it was a loan to buy or even a straight up signing, I could see why they might offload him. But they're in a relegation scrap and there's the remote possibility that with an injury crisis or a turn around in fortune, Clarke could score a single goal for them that's the difference between staying up and not. Even if that's a 5% chance, it's still more valuable than loaning him out to Ipswich in my opinion.

 

This was never on the cards for us. It was always ridiculously unrealistic. Now that we keep seeing these links, you wonder if our name was deliberately used.

I think footy would be much better if you assembled your squad before match day 1, then done. All this upgrading mid season creates a false league outcome imo. And it see clubs making daft decisions, certainly ones they wouldnt make in the summer. Doubt it does much for player morale or confidence either.

It is another premier league money spinner though, so we are stuck with it I suspect.
