I'd rather Nickson was over in Lille wrapping up Angel Gomes on a free transfer tbh, David is kinda overrated and IMO he'd struggle upfront as the main target man in Howe's system. He could be decent playing as a second striker behind Isak in a front 2 if we changed the formation though.

I just noticed that Lille have former Newcastle players Bentaleb & Remy Cabella in their squad
Mbappe's little brother Ethan plays for them too plus they also have a 17y.o wonderkid called Ayyoub Bouaddi who's apparently the next big thing in France.

Nah, its more because it's both a lazy link (B'mth, again) and potentially lazy scouting. He does look good, but presumably he looked just as good when B'mth paid Kiev £15m - something we could have done, yet again.

Another one doing the rounds, Kevin Danso to Wolves for around £20m. He's a decent player and these are small numbers for players who could be big upgrades.

Wonder where Newcastle sit in the Global "pecking order"? Real always top that, players would choose Madrid over everyone else. L'pool probably second right now, then it's a fight between Barca, Bayern, Chelsea, City. I just wonder where we now are?

 

I think this is the first day I've come on here and there isn't some daft **** thinking there might be signing coming in... Congratulations to us all.

 

Really difficult to tell as there are so many factors:

• History
• Potential
• Wage budget
• Current / recent form
• Facilities
• Global reach
• Nationality of players already at the club

I'd agree that Madrid are top of the pack at the moment followed by groups of:

• Liverpool, Man City, Barca, Bayern, Inter, Juve, Milan, PSG
• Chelsea, Arsenal, Leverkusen, Dortmund, Napoli, Atletico, Benfica, Sporting
• Atalanta, Porto, Leipzig, Roma, Monaco, Newcastle, Spurs, Man Utd, Villa

Any consistent CL football for the PL teams would bump these clubs up I reckon. (Wage offerings may have Man U in the group above already but I couldn't bring myself to type it!)

All just my view on it, I suspect a professional footballer would think differently :-D
