A few better keepers but they're all older, so you might be right.

I don't see him going anywhere right now, none of the top clubs able to pay silly money are in the market for keepers right now, and if he wants to keep his spot in the Dutch side he couldn't risk playing second fiddle anywhere.

Personally I think he will stay, better than being a reserve at arsenal or stoke

We gave him a two year deal but friedal isn't getting younger if the chances arises to sign a keeper that potentially could be number 1 for the next 10 years then we would be mad to pass it up.

Saying that, I doubt krul would leave newcastle yet as i've heard his name mentioned for a while and now he has established himself as your number 1 and one of the current best keepers in the league, i expect him to stay with newcastle until end of next season and then much will depend on how much you progress.

Warrior, very flattering. If my honest opinion upsets you, maybe you should get over it and stop being a puff

Finally - on Tim Krul, he's the 2nd lowest paid player in the senior squad and his agent is pushing for a new deal. The player loves #NUFC.

Give him what he wants within reason. The blokes saved us 10+ points already this season.

Agree, he'll be on less than 10k p/w (think Guthrie is the lowest paid player), and we could comfortably triple that and be within our wage budget, also leaving us more space to increase it further in the future.

I'd honestly give Guthrie a rise as well. I'm hearing rumours Villa are sniffing about. He's been top class since Tiote got injured. Certainly worth keeping.

They said just that about Guthrie, but also that he thinks as soon as Tiote's back he'll be dropped.

Krul deserves a new deal, and as long as he gets what he has earned and is worth then I can't see him leaving us for another Prem team any time soon.

If a top European club came in I think he could be off in summer, but as long as he is offered a new deal with us I think he'd stay rather than join someone else in PL.

Probs a stupid thing to think with the way football/players/agents seem to work these days but I think Krul would show more loyalty. I hope anyway. From an albeit NUFC fans bias perspective we are the best place for him at the moment. Not many players seem to leave us to go on to better things, Jose maybe recently but thats all.

Krul deserves a new deal, we've got to try and hang onto our quality players, and he's a quality player.

Worth giving Guthrie a raise too, he's got a good game in him and being kept out of the team by Tiote isn't such a bad thing, I'm sure he appreciates that.
