Given the choice, would you rather have Bournemouths owner, Brightons owner or SR? I don't think anyone is accusing them of doing things on the cheap, they're just doing it massively massively wrong. Instead of spending £40m on a striker who might actually win us games they're spending £10m x 4 on 4 players of which most are ****ing useless (because theyre only £10m) and/or injured. Why? Because that's the model. They don't care if we're "successful" we're a player trading system. Premier league or Championship it doesn't matter. Buy cheap, sell high. Problem is they're 10 years too late and they're really **** at it. Combine that with being totally incompetent in managerial recruitment and buying multiple clubs, is it any wonder that we're the worst team in history? I'm yet to see any actual positive and sensible evidence to prove they're good owners. The most the pro-SR fans can manage is, "they're trying" with no other evidence than that they said they are. They're absolutely the worst owners in the PL as evidenced by our entire club turning to **** since they've got here and making us a complete laughing stock
Yes, they've got it massively wrong, which is why Solak has made significant changes. Too late? Yeah for the moment. But it's the right thing to do, and he's done it.
Not suggesting we sack him now! That would be ridiculous. He's in a profession which is judged by results which after what 6 games, is 0 points. Zero. Nil. **** all. After he leads us in to smashing Derbys record would you want him anywhere near next season? **** no.
Season 1 - Kraft and Ankersen cock it up So... Season 2 - Ankersen gets moved away a bit. The season ends in promotion. Which means - Kraft etc get another chance, rightly. Season 3 - Kraft cocks it up. So...Kraft is removed. A new executive structure is brought in. I mean, yeah, they could have done things differently/quicker etc, but it's not unreasonable what Solak has done.
You do realise Martin is still far more to blame than Juric? Juric has had to implement a high pressing style into a team that is used to ****ing around with the ball rather than push high up the pitch pressing the opposition. Martin was also far too pally and soft with the players so Juric has inherited a complete mess. He needs a lot of time to sort it out.
In fairness I Agreed. I am all for giving him until the end of the season, but based on what we have seen so far I don't get why you would want him. Which is why it was worrying to see Solak say he will be our manager next season. I get not saying he will be gone at the end of the season, but to out right say he will be our manager next season is worrying. People keep saying he has definitely improved us since taking over. The reality is that by 6 games Martin had more points than Juric does.
Do you seriously think there are any managers out there - within our budget - who would have turned this team around in 6 games? I don't care about Derby's record to be honest. I just want to see a steady improvement from here on in. You have to be more realistic in your expectations.
Are we worse or better off than before they turned up? Evidentially worse. You can take opinions such as Gao being penniless or we were surviving by the skin of our teeth out of it. SR have relegated us twice, that is a fact. Now whether you believe they've done it through sheer ****ing incompetence or arrogance is up to you, but saying they're super sorry and trying really hard now is just nonsense. They've showed time and time again that they don't learn from mistakes, why are people suddenly believing them now? I remember after the City game you came away from that quite positive, having spoken to some of them. Did you think in your wildest dreams after that conversation that they would have allowed things to get that bad that we would be starting Februarys games with 6 whole points? They're snake oil salesmen and totally full of ****.
I don't think Juric will be here next season. I also don't expect Dragan to say that publicly when we're still in January.
No mate. My expectations from him were very low to start with. What I didn't expect was the same results with a different style of play. Besides, who recruited Jones, who recruited Selles, Martin and now Juric? Sports Republic. The blame lies wholly and totally at their door. Is it Jurics fault? Absolutely not but I don't want this losing mentality around next season. Clean slate and all that. I care about Derbys record. I care that we're going in to the history books. I care that songs about our points total will be sung at us forever more. And just like Sadio Mane's hat trick it'll be a record never beaten. **** me, Wycombe could be a PL team in a few years and their only aim will be to beat 6 points. It's beyond embarrassing.
im not sure ive seen a single post saying we should sack the manager now. It is very likely Juric stays til the season ends and then departs. I mean, we are playing better than under Martin, but he still has 0 points after 6 games or whatever. I dont think it is unreasonable to want or even expect more!
Truth be told, I reckon you could put over 50% of the Championship against the other 19 EPL teams, and they would get more points than us.
As a stable football club with future potential, better off. I don't think you can say they've showed time and time again that they don't learn from mistakes, when Solak has just made major changes at the exec level that shows, indisputably, that he recognises the mistakes and is trying to change things.
I do think we need to see how next season, and the subsequent Summer 26 transfer window operates should we be fortunate enough to be promoted. Clearing the decks, particularly around all those players who, whilst ok for the 2nd tier, are clearly not ok for the top one, will be out of contract, and quite honetly should be out of mind when it comes to rebuilding the **** show we currently have. I think if they screw that up, then they should be hounded out from the terraces. That said, im not convinced we will get it right even this summer. Not sure we will go right back up.
Martin first 6 PL: 1 point, conceded 12, scored 3 Juric first 6 PL: 0 points, conceded 17, scored 5 Juric is obviously not why we are going down, and I'm not even saying Martin was better. But I just don't see this improvement people keep mentioning. Unless things miraculously change in the coming weeks, he needs to go at the end of the season.
You don’t think there is a world of difference between the two scenarios so just doing a comparison like that is pointless?
I think other than the Brentford game, we have been in more games, not getting battered so much. We could have easily beaten WHU and Man Utd on other days, even Newcastle. Under Martin, I don't think we were close in many games towards the end of his tenure. He also has to contend with players who have been recruited for and then trained to play a certain way, and we are now playing very different to that style. THink our first win of many is just round the corner...
Yes but Juric is trying to establish a high pressing system into a team that did the exact opposite for months. He was never going to work miracles overnight. Sure, we would have expected to pick up a few points but you can't compare the two. Martin had a whole pre-season to continue to get his style across, Juric has had no such luxuries.
But we don't have the luxury of being able to not pick up a few points. I don't think anyone thought he'd be able to do anything about relegation but I expected us to pick up something. Might as well have stuck with Martin otherwise
