To be fair, we only have one player earning as such. For a club that's inside the top ten richest clubs in the world, we don't have anywhere near the quality we should have. We've got all the ambition for off the field progression but barely any for on it. I've said it in recent weeks/ months but when you look at the last 5-6 years at the "game changing stadium", how many have joined where instantly our fans have been salivating and rival fans have been concerned or envious? Very, very few, if any. EDIT: Bale and Perisic probably the two biggest players we've brought in. Both past their best, one on a freebie and one on a loan. Says it all.
Apparently the PA system was at insane decibels today to drown out the final whistle boo’s. Can anyone confirm? There was supposedly a massive yellow banner with “24 years, 16 managers, 1 trophy… Time for change”, which also got confiscated.
With all the caveats about injuries and being let down in the transfer market, Ange is still surely out of time now. I think his biggest failing is that his teams don’t seem to be coached to control a game. The football they play at their best is dominant, possession heavy and fun to watch, but even in that state, there’s no regulator, no player who runs the game, dictates the tempo. The tempo just never changes, it’s flat out and high risk all the time. Pep doesn’t do that at City. Klopp’s Liverpool team had to stop doing the heavy metal football to go up a level and win the big pots. There’s a reason nobody goes full throttle all the time and it’s because it loses you games and burns players out, mentally as much as physically. Ironically I think Ange could win us a cup, because his football only needs to come together on a handful of random days and you’ve got a Wembley final. But his approach is ruinous in the league, especially where the quality is higher than ever.
My mistake...I must have misread that list the other day. Ok..I ll change that to £100kpw and the expectation still stands.
CK did post the video earlier via a tweet but didn't change the "x" to "twitter" when copying the link in order to embed here. Here it is:
Mate the table doesn’t lie, a couple more performances like that, you will be looking over your shoulder ! I bet Madders ( you are lost without him ) feels a little disappointed, given other offers he probably could and should have taken ? Also , I think that of all the meagre points we have this season, 4 have come from our games against you guys, so thanks for that Also as for your remarks on your squad quality and position ? Really ? I think that your disappointment in defeat is maybe making you a little delusional ?
Madders was lucky to get Spurs after him and the wages he’s on. IIRC nobody else was after him anyway.
Oh believe me, I fully expect us be fighting relegation after today but I think we’ll be lucky that there are 3 terrible teams (including the one that just beat us that won’t get many more points). I’ve kind of just lost myself in whatever point I was originally trying to make after a few beers and knowing that my 3 year old who is on their way home from their grandparents is going to probably have the same issues!
Keep up DH its now the Football league trophy sponsored by Vertu and hasn't been the Johnstones Paint Trophy since 2016

If Levy was an employee, he'd have been sacked for the last 3 coach appointments. His last act should be to offer Paul Barber whatever he wants to run this club properly. If Levy doesn't, we'll be doing this all again in 18 months...having paid him £9m (the best remuneration in the PL, no less) to continue our return to mediocrity.
